💜April is Sarcoidosis Awareness Month💜
As it comes to a close, let's shine a light on a disease that affects approximately 1.2 million people living with sarcoidosis worldwide, including an estimated 175,000 people in the United States.

❓️What is sarcoidosis?❓️
Sarcoidosis is an immune system disorder marked by chronic inflammation that causes small clumps of immune cells, called granulomas, to form in tissues and organs. It is most common in the lungs and lymph nodes but can also affect the skin, liver, and eyes. Common symptoms include chronic cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, skin changes, and eye irritation.

📣Why awareness matters📣
Despite advances in research, sarcoidosis remains challenging to diagnose, and treatment options are limited to managing its symptoms. Greater awareness means earlier recognition, stronger support for patients and caregivers, and continued momentum toward a cure.

This survey is for EVERYONE who's interacted with MCH services in our area, not just the mamas. So, if you've been part of the journey in any way, we want to hear from you!
