Virginia’s 3-day Sales Tax Holiday is coming up! From 12:01 AM Friday, August 1 through 11:59 PM Sunday, August 3, you can save big on back-to-school and emergency prep essentials — no sales tax required!

Here’s what qualifies:

✅ School Supplies – $20 or less per item
✅ Clothing & Footwear – $100 or less per item
✅ Hurricane Prep Items
• Portable generators – $1,000 or less
• Chainsaws – $350 or less
• Accessories/prep supplies – $60 or less
✅ Energy Star™ & WaterSense™ Products – $2,500 or less for non-commercial use

📣Reminder of VDH Car Seat Program📣

If you have lost a car seat for your child as a result of the recent flooding, you can have your car seat replaced for free through the Low Income Safety Seat Program! If you meet eligibility, you can attend a brief class at your local health department and receive a new car seat absolutely free.

This service is available to anyone who meets the eligibility criteria!

🚨Shelter established at Green Valley Baptist Church in Lebanon for Dante flooding🚨

Dante flood update:

- No fatalities have been reported; 13 were injured
- Officials ask no one to travel in the area of Dante tonight due to the electricity being cut in the area
- Green Valley Baptist Church in Lebanon is open as a shelter

❗Pre-registration is not required to receive care. It will just help you get seen faster ❗
🔅Adults and children will be seen for free dental care on a first-come first-serve basis for their most immediate need. Please come prepared to wait in long lines.
🔅There is no overnight parking at UVA Wise.
🔅Parking will open at 4am Friday (7/18) and Saturday (7/19).
🔅Clinic hours are 7am – 5pm Friday and Saturday.
🔅No dentures services will be offered at UVA Wise MOM clinic.
🔅Contact Appalachian Highlands Dental Clinic (AHCDC) in Abingdon, VA for more information on the AHCDC mini-MOM project offering denture services at 276-525-4487
