nes has been in an assisted living home, we are constantly seeing how much communication is lacking to the family and true care and respect for the resident is really just not there. We are going out of our way to build relationships with quality partners to provide the best communication of care all around to the residents and to families. We also know how important it is to advocate for loved ones and their families and want to be that voice for those and help them know all the resources available to help them in changing times!

Resident of the Month – August
James Edward Ladd

This month, we are excited to celebrate James Edward Ladd as our Resident of the Month! James was born in Dayton, Ohio, and has led a vibrant and inspiring life filled with creativity, education, and a deep appreciation for the world around him.

James is a professional photographer, and his passion for capturing life’s most meaningful moments has been a central part of his journey. In addition to his love of photography, James has always enjoyed playing golf, exploring new places, and expressing himself through the fine arts. His dedication to learning led him to achieve a master’s degree in fine arts—a true testament to his talent and commitment.

He was one of two boys, with an older brother, Robert, who was eight years his senior and has since passed away. Although James never had children of his own, he had a special companion in his beloved dog, Hammy, and speaks warmly of their time together.

James has a love for seafood and ice cream, and he enjoys watching television shows from the past, especially classics like Gunsmoke and My Favorite Martian. His favorite travel memory is visiting Canada, and he continues to enjoy the comfort of watching TV as a relaxing pastime.

When asked who he looks up to, James mentioned his college professors and President John F. Kennedy, showing his admiration for strong, thoughtful leadership and education.

His advice to others is simple and wise:
“Stay in school and do what you love.”
Words that reflect the heart of someone who has truly lived with passion and purpose.

James, we are so grateful to have you as part of our community. Thank you for sharing your story, your talents, and your kind spirit with all of us. We celebrate you this month and every day!
