Last week, we brought the holiday spirit to the middle of summer with our Christmas in July celebration! Our team and community came together for a Crockpot Cookoff featuring delicious dishes judged by special guests from Meadow Crest Physician Offices, Compass Rose ALF, and even our own President of Resident Affairs! A big congratulations to our overall winner, Admissions Director Cindi Martin, for her award-winning dish! 🏆 To make the day even sweeter, we had a special visit from the Gingerbread Man, spreading cheer and holiday fun to residents, staff, and guests alike. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this celebration so merry and bright! 🌟

Yesterday at Life Care of Citrus County, we had the incredible opportunity to host the Dementia Experience Bus, sponsored by Senior Helpers! Our staff and guests were able to step inside this immersive, hands-on educational tour to gain a deeper understanding of what it’s like to live with dementia. The experience provided valuable insights and tools to help us continue delivering compassionate, person-centered care for those we serve. A huge thank you to Senior Helpers for bringing this powerful learning experience to our community! 🌟 From Bedside to Leadership: My Journey in Healthcare 🌟 With 18 years of experience in healthcare, I’ve had the privilege of growing through every season—learning, leading, and most importantly, serving. Today, as a Director of Clinical Services, I remain deeply rooted in the same passion that first brought me into nursing: the desire to care, to lead with heart, and to inspire others to reach their full potential. I hold a BSN, along with certifications in wound care and infection control. My true calling lies in leadership and professional development—mentoring nurses, driving quality improvement, and building systems that better serve both our residents and our teams. As a servant leader, I believe that strong processes, empowered people, and compassionate care are the foundation of excellent outcomes. I work hard every day to elevate care standards and create a culture of accountability, growth, and teamwork. Originally from beautiful Colorado, I’m also a proud mom, and I believe in a balanced life. Outside of work, you’ll find me staying active, prioritizing health, and soaking up time with my family—my biggest motivation and joy. Healthcare is constantly evolving, and so am I. 🌟 Employee Spotlight: Meet Eloise Van Noordwyk – Our New Executive Director! 🌟 We’re thrilled to introduce Eloise Van Noordwyk, our new Executive Director — a passionate, driven leader with global experience and a deep love for our community. Eloise holds an MBA with a major in Healthcare Management, a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA), and is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA). Her impressive academic and professional background reflects her commitment to excellence in healthcare leadership. Originally from South Africa, Eloise became a proud U.S. citizen in 2023. She has lived on three different continents and is passionate about traveling the world and embracing different cultures. Eloise has called our local community home for the past 6 years, and she truly loves it here. Her strong connection to this area is one of the many reasons we’re excited to have her leading our team. She’s also a lifelong learner who values ongoing education and personal growth, always striving to improve, lead by example, and inspire others. 🥔🎉 Happy National French Fry Day! 🎉🥔 Today we celebrated in crispy style thanks to our incredible Director of Rehab, Jason Stephens! He treated us to a full-on fry bar complete with all the fixings—pulled pork, brisket, mac and cheese, and more. 🎉 Congratulations to Christie Johnson! 🎉 We’re thrilled to share that Christie Johnson, from Life Care Center of Citrus County, has been selected as a 2025 Career Climb Scholarship recipient by the Florida Health Care Education and Development Foundation! 👏 Christie has been awarded a $2,500 scholarship to support her pursuit of growth and excellence in the long-term care profession. Her dedication, passion, and commitment to making a difference in our residents' lives truly set her apart. 💙 She will be honored at the FHCA Quality Award & Scholarship Ceremony during the Annual Conference & Trade Show on Tuesday, July 15, at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. Life Care Center of Citrus County, located in Lecanto, Florida, has a relaxing and rejuvenating atmosphere. Nestled within an hour and a half of Tampa, Orlando and Gainesville, Life Care Center of Citrus County sits close to the Gulf of Mexico, freshwater springs and the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum.

Our nursing home has services and amenities that keep patients and residents in mind. Inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services are provided along with skilled nursing care. Enjoy an ice cream cone from our in-house ice cream parlor, or relax while being pampered at our beauty salon and barber shop. We are also proud of our premier special care unit Serenity Lane, which focuses on caring for those with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.
