Her calm and steady demeanor keeps our team grounded – a quality no doubt sharpened by her years of experience as an Emergency Room Nurse. 👩‍⚕️

🌟 Resident Spotlight: Maria Christine Economou 🌟

Life Care of Citrus County is proud to highlight the life of our vibrant resident, Maria Christine Economou. Maria’s story begins with rich cultural roots—her grandparents immigrated from Greece to the U.S., and her father’s military service meant she was born in Germany and spent time living in Japan and Greece as a child. Greek was her first language, and her kindergarten teacher encouraged her parents to teach her English so she could thrive in school. Athletic and determined, Maria was the only freshman to make the varsity cheerleading team and was even invited to cheer for the Patriots! 💙❤️

Maria’s love story with her husband John began in church, where they both sang in the choir. For Maria, it was love at first sight—she even playfully tugged the suspender loops off his shirts to get his attention! Years later, fate brought them back together at a church band event while John was a traveling musician. They married in 1972 and spent their lives enjoying their shared love of music, raising two daughters, and traveling throughout New England. Maria and John share a love for karaoke and dancing, with Maria especially cherishing traditional Greek dance.

She is also a proud breast cancer survivor, and her motto is to “Live, Laugh, Love.” Her infectious smile and joyful spirit remind us all to embrace life with gratitude and passion. We are honored to have Maria as part of our Life Care family! 💕

🌟 Resident Spotlight: Meet David Willmott! 🌟

We are honored to shine this week’s spotlight on David Willmott, a wonderful member of our Life Care of Citrus County family! David was born on March 17, 1954, in Englewood, NJ, and raised in Long Island, where he lived until 1994 before moving to Newbern, NC, and eventually making his home right here in Inverness, FL. What David loves most about Citrus County is the laid-back lifestyle, the friendly people, and of course—the amazing seafood! Two of his favorite spots to eat are Peck’s and The Freezer.

🎶 A music lover at heart, David enjoys the sounds of the '70s and '80s, with "Cheap Sunglasses" by ZZ Top topping his favorites list. Outside of music, his hobbies have included fishing on his boat, deer hunting, and playing co-ed softball as a pitcher for many years. ⚾

More than anything, David’s greatest passion in life is being a dad. 👨‍👦 He proudly served as both mother and father to his son, sacrificing everything to make sure he was well cared for. Some of his favorite memories include playing Monopoly together and coaching his son’s Little League team.

Here at Life Care, David continues his love of board games and can often be found in Activities, participating in friendly competitions. He wants everyone to know how truly happy and pleased he is to be part of our community, sharing that he has found a new family here in our caring staff—especially Nurse Jill and Activities Director Lisa, who brighten his days. 💙

For many, the radio was more than just entertainment—it was a companion. It brought favorite songs, thrilling radio shows, and important news that kept families connected to the world. From the golden days of big band music and baseball broadcasts to the nightly news and beloved storytellers, the radio has carried memories that still bring smiles today. We honor the role radio has played in shaping moments, sparking imagination, and creating connections that last a lifetime. ❤️ ✨

🌟 Employee Spotlight – Meet Lisa Pace!

We’re excited to introduce our new Activities Director, Lisa Pace! 🎉 Lisa brings creativity, energy, and a love for fun to our community. When she’s not planning exciting activities, you can find her singing her heart out at karaoke or playing the violin 🎤🎻. She’s also a big fan of Mexican food 🌮 and has a degree in Business Management and Marketing. Outside of work, Lisa treasures time with her two grown sons, ages 24 and 22, who keep her laughing and smiling.

We’re so happy to have Lisa on our team and can’t wait to see the joy and inspiration she brings to our residents every day! 💙

Please join us in celebrating Cynthia “Cindi” Martin, our 2024 Whatever It Takes Award Winner here at Life Care of Citrus County! 💙 Cindi has been a vital part of the Life Care family for 24 years, serving in various roles including our dedicated Admissions Director for the last 15 years. With a Paralegal degree and a heart full of compassion, she’s known for always sharing a warm smile and a listening ear.

When she’s not going above and beyond for our residents and families, you’ll find Cindi enjoying her favorite hobbies — 4-wheeling, Jeeping, and spending precious time with her granddaughter, Natalia. Cindi, thank you for being the heart of our team and for truly doing Whatever It Takes. We’re so lucky to have you! 💐✨

Did you catch us on the news last night? 📺

We had a very special visit from 6-year-old Huck Dominy, who sells bracelets with affirming sayings to share joy with others. Our residents and associates loved his homemade crafts reminding them of how loved, kind, or special they are. 🥰
