It has come to my attention that many people are having vivid dreams during the pandemic. This is a normal reaction to a situation that is so extremely abnormal. Our minds try to process the unimaginable. If you are suffering from night terrors, dreams, or problems sleeping try these techniques.
1. Find a person who you can share these experiences with. You don’t need interpretations but rather a listener.
2. Declare your bed a safe area. Create a ritual that helps you feel safe in your sleep area.
3. Admit you can’t control the pandemic. Give your concerns to God before bedtime each night.
4. Imagine angels surrounding your home before you sleep.
5. Stay away from caffeine and stimulates after dinner. Keep news viewing or reading to daytime hours.
6. Keep your room cool.
7. End your day in a prayer ritual
8. Sip warm herbal tea a half hour before bedtime.
9. Read a Scripture and meditate on it as you fall to sleep.
10. Add quiet classical music to your nightly routine.
11. Keep a dream journal
12. If you’re feeling sad, overly anxious or hopeless reach out to a counselor or pastor immediately.
The Lord promises to never leave us even during difficult times.
