IT'S POSSIBLE TO GROW A LEMON TREE FROM SEED
It's not as difficult as you might think, and you and your Family might even find it fun to grow it together. It might be a good project for the Fall/Winter. Here is some info on how to do that:
Buy an Organic Lemon from the grocery store
You will need a 6 inch x 6 inch planting pot
You will need a bag of potting soil that contains peat, perlite, vermiculite and natural fertilizers.
You also need a growing location in your home that gets at least 8 hours of sun each day, or you can supplement with a growing light
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Fill the small planting pot with potting mix to an inch from rim
2) Moisten the potting soil until it is damp, but not soaked
3) Get a Lemon Seed from your Organic Lemon, and take all pulp from surface
4 ) Plant immediately while it is still moist--1/2 inch deep in the pot
5) Spray the soil gently with a spray bottle, but don't soak
6) Cover the planting pot with clear plastic wrap, put a rubber band around edges to seal, and poke a few small holes in top
7) Place your planting pot in a sunny warm location in your home
8) Spray water on your soil each day to keep soil from drying out, but not too much
9) In about 2 weeks, your little Lemon Tree seedling will emerge. Take plastic off, and make sure it gets 8 hours of light each day, or supplement with a grow light
10) Keep the soil damp, and make sure to give it a dose of organic fertilizer mixed in your water once every 2 weeks
11) Once it outgrows the Planting pot, you can put it into a larger 24 inch wide x 12 inch deep grow pot.
12) It will take 2 - 3 years before your Lemon Tree will start producing fruit
