✅ Pace Yourself – If you’re walking in a parade or dancing, listen to your body and take breaks when needed.
✅ Support Your Joints – Wearing supportive shoes can help prevent knee, hip, and back pain during all the festivities.
✅ Stay Hydrated – If you’re indulging in St. Paddy’s drinks, balance it out with plenty of water to avoid dehydration and muscle cramps.
✅ Stretch Before You Step – A few dynamic stretches before a long walk or dance session can prevent injuries.

❄️ Snow Shoveling Tips for a Healthy Back! ❄️

The first snowfall is here! While the winter wonderland is beautiful, shoveling snow can be tough on your back. Follow these Physical Therapist-approved tips to keep your body safe:

1️⃣ Warm Up First: A quick 5-10 minute warm-up (think marching in place or stretching) gets your muscles ready for action.

2️⃣ Use Proper Form:
• Bend at your hips and knees—not your back!
• Keep the shovel close to your body to avoid strain.
• Avoid twisting—step to turn instead.

3️⃣ Choose the Right Shovel: Opt for a lightweight, ergonomic shovel to minimize stress on your back.

4️⃣ Push, Don’t Lift: Push the snow when possible. If you must lift, do so in small amounts.

5️⃣ Take Breaks: Shoveling is a workout! Rest every 15-20 minutes to avoid overexertion.

6️⃣ Stay Hydrated: Cold weather can still dehydrate you, so drink plenty of water.
