Where did the time go?
👶18 years ago, God blessed us with a soul that changed our lives forever...
💗A soul that became the beat of our hearts
👸A girl who started the shaping of our motherhood & fatherhood journeys
👨‍🍼A daughter who gave us way more than we ever imagined we would get
👩‍👦A big sister who cares, loves, and is a role model for her siblings

Stop counting the number of words your child says! When you are worried and obsessed about counting their words, you miss on so many opportunities to interact with them.

As a speech and language therapist, I want you, parents, to understand that you should focus on how MUCH and how WELL your child is interacting with you not on how MANY WORDS he/she can say.

Interaction is the foundation of language skills! Do you agree?

If I were to give you only ONE TIP to apply in your daily life and boost your child's language development, I would say:

"Have fun in the interaction"
Yes enjoy your time with your child and get your focus off making him/her TALK. 🥰

And, while having fun, you can add specific language strategies to the interaction to help your child develop his/her language skills. 😉 This is how your child will move from saying nothing to few words and from words to word combination and sentences.

What affects the severity of stuttering is how people who stutter see themselves and how others react to them.

If you don't stutter, just be a good listener when talking to people who stutter. This is how you will help them experience positive feelings about their speaking and stuttering.

Remember, it is OK to stutter! 💕
