This is something that we take a lot of pride in and look forward to continue in the future. These clinics have been very successful in helping people of all ages acquire the skills needed to put the "competitive edge" on their side. Along wi

th these needed skills, our clinics provide a wealth of knowledge including many things that have taken years of "being in the business" to learn. Participants have gone on from these sessions and received immediate and rewarding results on local and national levels. You will learn proven techniques and tips on clipping, hoof trimming, show day dressing, showmanship, feeding and general care. I will also share many of the solutions to problems I've encountered over the years. In addition to the hands-on experience, we like to get together each day for group discussions covering a variety of topics. In the 23 years running, we have continually updated and improved these clinics in order to bring you the best and most sought after clinic you can attend. These clinics are an excellent crash course on everything in the show cattle industry.

When you think of the words INFLUENCE, and IMPACT -Jack Statts is right at the top of the list…Our prayers and thoughts are with the family and friends. Praying, peace and comfort to everyone that was affiliated with this great man. He made such a huge impact on this Livestock industry in so many ways and I am fortunate to call him, my friend. Heaven gained a real special person.— Kirk Stierwalt Family

Our hearts are heavy this morning with the passing of one of OYE’s greatest friends, Mr. Jack Staats.

Jack was many things to many people, and for ‘The Greatest Show’ that is no exception. Jack was a change-maker, leader, jokester, and encourager. He began his involvement with the Oklahoma Youth Expo in 2007, the same year he was deemed the State Program Administrator for Agricultural Education and State FFA Advisor of Oklahoma at the Oklahoma Department of CareerTech. He served on the OYE Board of Directors for his 13 years of service, and for nearly two decades, Jack worked diligently and in numerous capacities to make OYE a better place for the agricultural youth of Oklahoma to gather and compete.

Perhaps his most notable involvement with the Oklahoma Youth Expo is his service as the OYE Goat Superintendent. Because of Jack’s gift in establishing relationships and his natural leadership, in addition to his impressive 34 year agricultural education teaching career, Jack was a catalyst in solidifying the Ag-Ed community’s belief in the Oklahoma Youth Expo.

Jack’s impact has also spanned far beyond the realm of OYE. He was a helping hand in every role he took on. There to make the tough decisions, gift laughter, and assist in whatever way was needed, Jack Staats was the man you wanted on your team and in your corner. He made the Oklahoma Youth Expo a better show and our staff better people.

Thank you, Jack, for making our show and our state better with your servant heart. May we always remember your wise words today and every day: “There’s never a wrong time to do the right thing.”

Rest in peace, Mr. Staats. 🧡

Always a fun trip to Idaho!! Started out in Blackfoot, Idaho at the CAL RANCH 4-Species Event hosted by Cal Ranch Farm Stores and Weaver Livestock , then headed west to the Specie Clinic in New Plymouth, Idaho organized by the Promoting Ag group — they are awesome!!

Thanks to everyone who came out to both events!!!. Always great seeing so many familiar faces and meeting new ones along the way. This clinic is always a special one for me. Started with Karol and Casey !! You guys family !!

Really enjoyed celebrating Dom, Caden, Haden, and Paxton on officially signing with their designated colleges to further pursue their judging careers. Exciting futures ahead for all of them!

We also ventured off for a little sightseeing and got to see Old Faithful, Yellowstone, and the Hot Springs — pretty incredible views.

Always enjoy spending time with the other instructors, but even more importantly, these are great friends — Roger and Lisa Shearer, Kent Bennington, and Kelsey Pfeifer!!
