Celebrating Black History Month: A Hundred Years Later

This Black History Month, we honor the history, service, resilience, and contributions of Black Americans, past and present.

From the Buffalo Soldiers to the Tuskegee Airmen, Black Veterans have served with courage and distinction, often while facing segregation and unequal treatment. Their advocacy and service helped shape reforms that improved access to benefits and health care for generations of Veterans.

At VA CWM, we honor that legacy and recognize the sacrifices and the lasting impact they have made in our Armed Forces, our communities, and our nation.

A winter storm for Jan. 25 & 26, 2026, with 12+ inches of snow is expected at the VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System campus & clinics. Wind chill temperatures from -10 to -15 degrees are expected into the week.
