Congrats to Jody for graduating PT after having a right shoulder stem cell/PRP injection this summer. Jody now has full range of motion and her strength is back to pre-injury level. She is so happy to be back teaching her water aerobics class as well as being able to pick up her dog Pepper.

🚴‍♀️ Fall is the perfect time to get back on your bike.

Cooler temps mean longer, more comfortable rides — but if your bike isn’t set up correctly, pain can sneak in fast.

At KC Rehab, our bike fitting services go beyond simple adjustments. Every fit starts with:
🔹 A comprehensive medical and athletic history
🔹 A biomechanical assessment to understand your movement
🔹 Personalized recommendations to maximize comfort, power, and injury prevention

Whether you’re chasing miles on the trail or just enjoying weekend rides, a professional fit can make all the difference.

Fun Fact Friday: Did you know it typically takes about 7 years of higher education to become a physical therapist? 🎓

But the learning doesn’t stop there!
PTs often continue their education with specialty certifications, advanced training, and professional development to provide the best care possible. From orthopedics to pelvic health, there’s always a new skill or technique to master!

Parker is a baseball player that we have been working with following UCL surgery in May of this year. More commonly known as Tommy John, this surgery is frequently seen not only in baseball players, but overhead athlete populations as a whole.

In the early stages of the rehab process Parker was immobilized to protect the healing tissue, but we are nearly 12 weeks out from his surgery with the major restriction being throwing. During this phase of his rehab, the focus has been around building strength and progressive loading of the involved tissue to prepare for the initiation of a throwing program in the coming weeks. Over the years we have seen different timelines for when a throwing program can be started from as early as 14 weeks up to 20 weeks depending on variables specific to the surgery like the use of an internal brace or the primary position of the athlete (pitcher, infield, outfield).

Here are some of the things that we have been doing recently during his visits to promote load bearing positions, global strength, motor control, and endurance. We will continue progression of open and closed chain activities with a more sport specific focus until we can begin throwing.

1. Plank
2. Deadlift
3. Wall Sit w/Med Ball Press
4. Wall Sit w/ Med Ball Rotation
