🔎 During your skin exam, you may notice us pull out this little tool called a dermatoscope. It allows us get an even CLOSER look at your spots by magnifying and shedding targeted light in an area of concern.

Cornerstone Dermatology providers are experts at determining the difference between benign (harmless) spots and more concerning precancerous growths or even melanoma. If we notice something suspicious, we recommend a biopsy to rule out skin cancer.

Who should schedule a routine full-body skin exam in 2026?

Anyone with:
- A personal history of skin cancer
- Fair skin that burns easily, blonde or red hair, or light colored eyes
- Multiple atypical moles, or family history of melanoma
- History of frequent sun exposure or any tanning bed use
- Blistering sunburns, especially in childhood
- Weakened immune system
