💡 Grant Spotlight - ReDiscover 💡

ReDiscover has been a wonderful community mental health resource for decades in Lee’s Summit and around Jackson County. This year, the GLSHF awarded ReDiscover $10,000 to expand and enhance wellness services, upgrading fitness and nutrition equipment, improving the community garden, providing smoking cessation resources and other health-related initiatives.

2026 Grant Spotlight! 💡 Coldwater of Lee's Summit received a grant for $7,200 recently to enhance their fresh produce program. Coldwater “rescues” produce items from several retailers around Lee’s Summit so their clients can enjoy fresh veggies & fruits! 🍎 We’re proud to partner with Coldwater and several area nonprofits to award more than $60,000 in grants this year!

💡 Grant highlight!! 💡 University Health KC received $8,715 from the GLSHF to provide a new scale for their tiniest patients - newborns! (Did you know? UHLMC delivered 1,651 babies last year!)

The GLSHF awarded more than $61,000 to eight nonprofits recently - and we’ve given out $2.5M in grants and scholarships since 2003!

Help us welcome our newest member of the GLSHF Board of Directors, Brian Franciskato!

Brian, a partner at Nash and Franciskato Law Firm, is a litigator representing plaintiffs throughout the country in wrongful death and serious personal injury cases.

Brian earned his undergraduate degree from William Jewell College and his law degree from the Mizzou School of Law.

Brian is active in a number of professional organizations, including the American Association for Justice, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, the Kansas Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, the Minnesota Bar Association and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. He is also a member of Missouri Trial Lawyers Care, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for Missouri residents.

Brian and his wife Stacey are lifelong residents of Lee’s Summit, where they raised their four children: Emily, Caroline, Claire and Scott. They are active in the community and are members of The Summit Church
