Our healing meditation classes begin again tonight at 8pm EDT - after a quick summer break!

I return to the sea every summer to visit with family and immerse in the familar rhythms. I come home feeling refreshed and aligned with nature.

We’ll explore affirming Lessons From The Sea in our live, online August classes. Each class includes:

- centering practices
- breath work
- an affirming thought to work with
- guided relaxation
- guided visualization

All are welcome, including pets and children! One registration per household - anyone can tune in to relax.

You’ll receive the class recording (with only my video and voice) to view as often as you wish until our next class.

We tried something new in our online, group Summer Nights Meditation class this week - guided exploration through the koshas!

The Vedas (ancient yogic texts) describe the five koshas as the layers of our being.

Our physical body is the outermost layer and the rest reside within.

Check out this quick video that explains what we explored, cleansed and rejuvenated in class!

Our classes are both live and recorded so you can participate in community or experience on your own. Many clients do both - take the live class and listen to the recording 2-3 times between our weekly sessions.

Bring 4 pebbles to online Summer Nights Meditation class tonight at 8pm Eastern!

We’ll use pebbles, shells, stones, buttons or 4 little items you can hold in your hand to support our practice of presence.

Every registrant receives the class recording to view for 7 days. Some people only listen to recordings at the time that best meets their needs, and some use the recording a few times a week to shift into a relaxed state.

If you can’t join us, listen to Thich Nhat Hanh’s pebble meditation available on YouTube. It’s a beautiful, calming practice that helps us feel connected to the pace of the natural world.

I’m honored to join the movement community at by offering a Mindfulness Clinic on May 12!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month so we’re hosting this program to help reduce stress.

We’ll breathe, relax, and ease our way back to our own calm baseline using active mindfulness strategies and yogic mudras. Read: it won’t be boring!

My classes are designed to meet busy minds at the speed they are traveling, then gradually we slow down to the pace of the present.

Want to sleep as comfortably as this mindful sloth?

Let me offer you an experience in deep relaxation after a bit of insight on how mindful practices aid sleep!

We have seats left in our Mindful Healthy Sleep workshop on Monday, April 28 at 7:30pm EDT.

I promise you’ll gain something from it!

✅ I’ll talk about natural sleep cycles (spoiler alert: we’re suppose to wake during the night. We can practice acceptance with our sleep shifts through our life and release the nightly battles.

Cherry blossom season feels magical every year here in Northern Virginia! Every day feels like a miracle as the buds begin to blossom on trees while bulbs emerge from the Earth. The season lasts at least 6 weeks and is a joy to witness.

What’s your meditation anchor?

Last week we used physical anchors in our online group classes. Did you use the anchors again when you listened to the class recording?

🕉️ Yoga Off The Mat classmates held an item as we explored Dharana, the 7th Limb of Hatha Yoga that brings us deeply into single-pointed focus, when our mind feels calm.

🕉️ Mindful Help for Anxiety, Stress & Pain classmates held an anchor as we explored the sensory tools that bring us back to the present and out of fight/flight/freeze.

❓Now what?

Here are 5 ways to use your anchor:

1. Hold the anchor. The more frequently we meditate holding the object the more we’ll associate the sensation with meditation. It can become a familiar guide to the present.

2. Carry it. Keep it in your pocket, purse or bag and reach for it when you need to take 3-5 minutes to steady yourself.

3. Place it somewhere special. Keep it in view to remind you that who you are at your center is your true self.

4. Wear it. This is easiest when the anchor is small enough to become part of daily attire (bracelet, pendant, or stick it in a sock). This is my favorite method!

5. Sleep with it, or next to it. Gazing at your anchor as you intentionally breathe into peaceful sleep can lead to more restorative nights.

Whether you reach for it as needed or use it routinely, a physical anchor can be a helpful friend in your mindfulness practice.
