The first screening test is for tuberculosis. This is to make sure that any one residing in the US does not have latent or active TB. The TST is a skin test that you can get done - on the forearm- and need to return to the doctor to have it read in 48-72 hours. If the induration is less than 4mm, then it is considered negative. The T-spot and Quantiferon gold test are blood tests, and more specific than the skin test. CXR is required if you have a positive result on any of the tests to make sure that you don’t have active infection. If you have a positive CXR or are symptomatic, you will be referred to the health department for proper treatment. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out at 571-206-4774.

For those picky eaters, there is the option to give the balanced vitamins and minerals in a soluble tab rather than the sugary gummy chewable! No sugar, better tasting. Worth a try to get the right amount of iron, b complex and vit d into a growing child.

National Walking Day! Let a walk boost your immune system, overall health, and weight loss. Even a 10 minute brisk walk everyday is heart healthy- anywhere, anytime. If you want to do it at the comfort of your home, I personally love doing "WALK" by Leslie Sansone on Youtube; or you can do any program that you love!

To appreciate the outdoors, we are in DC for the Cherry Blossoms. We did our 10,000 steps that day, unknowingly! Beautiful day, wonderful times :)
