Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services Our mission is to Connect all communities through exceptional people, parks and programs.

PRCS offers a countywide system of facilities including trails, athletic fields, parks, open space, community, recreation and aquatic centers, senior and adult day centers, playgrounds, sports complexes, a nature preserve, a nature center, a performing and fine arts center, indoor and outdoor pools, and historic and heritage sites. Programs and services encompass facility planning and development, children’s programs (e.g., preschool, camps, after-school care), youth services, aging services, sports and recreation, community outreach, adaptive recreation, health and fitness and environmental stewardship. The adventurous Adaptive Recreation crew hit the ground running after flying to New Orleans today. They visited the Audubon Aquarium, the French Quarter River Walk, and had lunch at Mother’s Restaurant, a local favorite.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the southside playground at Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park will remain closed for the installation of a shade structure at the southside through Friday, April 24.

To ensure patrons' safety and equipment access at the playground, the public is asked to respect any construction fencing and signs on the property.

During this time, we welcome you to use the northside playground.

PRCS is now offering Boys’ Volleyball to gear up for the fall season!

These clinics are designed to help build the foundation of the sport from the ground up! Open to rising freshmen through rising seniors (Ages 13-18), this clinic will focus on core skills, volleyball IQ, and game fundamentals while introducing athletes to the pace, structure, and expectations of high school-level play. Whether you are new to volleyball or coming from another sport, this clinic is a great opportunity to learn the game, develop confidence, and be part of the early growth of boys' volleyball in our county!

Celebrate our planet at the Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) annual Earth Day Loudoun on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Franklin Park, located 17501 Franklin Park Drive, in Purcellville, Virginia.

Earth Day Loudoun is a free, family-friendly festival with games, music, food, and more. Residents are invited to learn about environmental issues through hands-on activities and nature-themed crafts. Meet local scientists, farmers, environmentally conscious vendors, and activists to learn about their efforts to preserve the environment. Educational performances, live ambassador animals, and nature crafts will make for fun experiences that inspire a future of conservation. No registration is required.

More information about Earth Day Loudoun, including event attractions, entertainment details, and available food for purchase, can be found on the PRCS website at loudoun.gov/EarthDayLoudoun.

Earth Day Loudoun will be hosted rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, a cancellation notice will be posted on the Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services and the Franklin Regional Park pages.

Throughout the year, PRCS offers programs and spaces that promote environmental stewardship and foster sustainable practices through conservation awareness and education

There is something magical in Hanson Park!

We will find out all about the magic in our upcoming School's Out(side): Fairytale Forest Camp!

Friday, April 10 | $50 | Registration Required
Ages 7-9

You might find a fairy village, a witch's hut, or an ogre den in the Hanson Park Forest. We will search for magic, brew potions, and craft fairy homes.
