I have dreaded writing this, which is why I have put it off for too long. But here I am, writing to say a final goodbye as I close the doors to FIT4MOM Central & Western Loudoun this week (of course not without having to wipe away tears every few words).
It’s been over 11 years since I walked into the FIT4MOM world and had no idea then what an impact it would have on my life, as a person and as a mom. From the classes, to the playgroups, Mom’s Nights Out, family events, field trips, the many milestones celebrated in between, and of course all of the moms I have had the pleasure to meet and get to know, I cannot imagine a better way to have spent the last 11 years.
I would have loved to have seen this franchise continue under new ownership, to continue providing the support, space, and community that has provided so much to moms and their families in our area, but unfortunately the timing just didn’t align. And it was time for me to practice what I have preached for so long to all of you, that we have to take care of ourselves so we can take care of others.
Some of you know that I tore my ACL followed by surgery about a year and a half ago, and then my family found out my dad has stomach cancer this past November, and as much as I tried to suppress the trauma from those events, I had to come to terms with the toll it has actually taken on my health, and prioritize taking care of me so I can continue to take care of my family.
So, with that, our last class will be Strides 360 on Wednesday, April 30th, taught by yours truly.
I thank every one of you who has shown up, even on the hardest days, to support this small business, to support other moms, to do something good for yourself. Thank you for sharing your stories. Thank you for being you.
Don’t ever forget your last, most important stretch - your smile 🩷
Love,
Christina
