Hearts of Hope: A Celebration of Redemption and Community
The 9th Annual Hearts of Hope for the Women’s Care Center, held on March 5th and 6th, was truly a beautiful reminder of what community and compassion can accomplish. After several months of thoughtful planning, every moment proved to be more than worth it.
This special invitation-only, two-day event welcomed 240 women each day, creating an intimate and powerful space for connection, encouragement, and generosity. Together, we joyfully met our fundraising goal of $80,000- an incredible testament to the hearts behind this mission.
One of the most moving parts of the event was hearing the powerful testimonies of redemption from former WCC graduates Jen Rapp and Chelsey Spears. Their stories were a profound reflection of hope, transformation, and the life-changing impact of the Women’s Care Center.
We are so grateful for everyone who made this event possible and for the lives that will continue to be touched because of it.

January 25th is a date I will never forget.
A few years ago, I walked into the Christian Care Center broken, addicted, and running from everything that hurt. It was here, through the love and truth of Christ, that my life began to change. It was here that I surrendered my life to Jesus. And it was through the prayers, patience, and faithfulness of so many people at Christian Care Center and at First Baptist Leesburg that God rebuilt what I had destroyed.
But well before January 25th, there were tears.

🚒 Safe Haven Baby Box Installation Event
Monday, March 24 at 1:00 pm
Canal Street Fire Station – Leesburg, FL

Our community is coming together for an important and compassionate milestone. On March 24 at 1:00 pm, the Canal Street Fire Station will officially introduce its new Safe Haven Baby Box — a secure, anonymous, and life‑saving option for parents in crisis who feel unable to care for a newborn.

Safe Haven Baby Boxes are designed with:
- A climate‑controlled, medical‑grade bassinet
- A silent alarm system that alerts firefighters immediately
- An exterior door that locks automatically for safety
- A private interior access door for first responders to retrieve the infant within moments

This installation expands the resources available to protect vulnerable infants and offers overwhelmed parents a safe, judgment‑free alternative.

Join us as Leesburg takes this meaningful step toward supporting families and saving lives. 💛 . The Christian Care Center supported the installation of this Safe Haven Baby Box to help save lives.

For months, the women at the Women’s Care Center have been lovingly restoring a rocking chair to gift to a young mother. Every other Friday since summer, they’ve gathered in Ms. Connie’s crafting class—sanding, staining, painting, and sharing plenty of laughter along the way.

About Us

The Christian Care Center is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation. It was founded in 1985 by the membership of First Baptist Church of Leesburg, Florida. but is now a community effort of “Meeting Needs and Sharing Christ” in Leesburg, Lake County and surrounding areas. The church owns the property and leases it to the CCC each year where it is operated as a separate corporation.

First Baptist’s continued partnership has been invaluable for the Christian Care Center, providing a steady stream of volunteers, donors, people who are willing to give clients a job or to rent housing to them once they complete the program and in many other ways. However, the legal and physical distinction between the church and the CCC has been helpful in many ways over the years as the CCC is committed to bringing all areas of our community together to help those in need. We bring together local businesses, churches, schools, government agencies, law enforcement officials and civic organizations to make a large impact in our community.

Our founder is Dr. Charles Roesel. Dr. Roesel is Pastor Emeritus of First Baptist Church Leesburg. More than 7,000 people were baptized during his 29 years there. Before that, he was pastor of two other churches in Florida. Today, he serves as a Presidential Ambassador for the North American Mission Board and preaches and teaches all over the world. His signature contribution to Southern Baptist life was the concept of Ministry Evangelism. In short, he encourages people to take seriously Jesus’ commands in Matthew 25:31-46. That passion led his people to start more than 70 ministries at FBC Leesburg and continues to inspire church leaders to reach out to the poor in Jesus’ name. When he is not traveling to a speaking engagement, Pastor Charles lives on a ranch outside Bushnell, Florida with his wife, Edna Sue.
