The HealthWorks team had a FANTASTIC afternoon at Runway to the Cure. The fashions were amazing, the crowd was enthusiastic, and the breast cancer survivors who walked the runway dazzled us all with their stories of strength and resilience. HealthWorks is grateful to be a part of this very special event.

An important perspective on the impact of the government shutdown on community health centers by Tracy Douglas, the Chief Executive Officer for Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VCHA), the primary care association representing Virginia’s Federally Qualified Health Centers.

With the government shutdown, these clinics and the hospitals that support them are facing a funding cliff.

Every Monday in October, HealthWorks will be providing FREE mammograms to women without insurance who might not otherwise get this vital screening.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it’s the perfect time to remember that early detection is key. When breast cancer is found early, the 5-year survival rate is over 99%. A mammogram is one of the best tools for catching it early.
