It's Patient Appreciation Day at HealthWorks!
At Community Health Centers like ours, patients aren’t just receiving care, they’re helping lead it. Every CHC board is made up of at least 51% patients, meaning major decisions about services, priorities, and programs are made by the people who rely on them most.
Cesar Rodriguez is a HealthWorks patient and board member. He’s been a patient with us since we started as the Herndon Free Clinic back in 2010. Cesar has become one of our most ardent supporters, and he loves to share about the good work we do in the community. In fact, he keeps extra registration forms in his car and gives them passengers without health insurance when driving them for Uber!
“Our mission makes us different. HealthWorks has a great team of providers, and we are willing to help anyone who needs medical care. I serve on the board because I have been given so much, and life is about giving and receiving.”
Because our board is made of patients like Cesar, HealthWorks is grounded in the real needs of their communities. On Patient Appreciation Day, we celebrate the voices, experiences, and leadership of the patients who power our mission.
