One of the best New Year’s resolutions you can make is to schedule your annual exam. This is a preventative check-in with your healthcare provider to review your medical history, medications, behavioral health, and lifestyle. It’s a great time to ensure you’re up to date on screenings and immunizations, as well as ask your provider any concerns or questions you have about your health.

This January, start the new year off by giving back to your community. When you purchase the $2.75 reusable Community Bag at the Giant Food store at 635 Potomac Station Drive in Leesburg, $1 goes directly to HealthWorks.

No one should be forced to choose between food, rent, and healthcare. More people are struggling to pay for healthcare, including prescriptions for diabetes, high blood pressure, and other chronic conditions.

More of them will turn to HealthWorks for their healthcare needs, and we stand ready to care for them.

Your year-end gift helps us provide medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare to all who need it, including prescription assistance, so every patient stays healthy. An anonymous donor is challenging our community to match their generous support of HealthWorks, up to $12,000. That means your gift will make double the impact.

As ACA tax credits expire, thousands of people in our region will lose their healthcare coverage, and many won’t be able to afford the medications they rely on.

Your year-end gift helps HealthWorks make sure patients can still access essential prescriptions and care.

An anonymous donor has stepped forward with a $12,000 matching challenge, meaning every dollar you give right now will be doubled. Your support goes twice as far helping patients receive the compassionate, high-quality care they depend on.

Help us prepare for what’s ahead.

Jeancarlo Siles, HealthWorks Behavioral Health Coordinator, has been a longtime supporter of the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (AFSP). His commitment to this organization is a personal one. He has lost several friends to su***de and is especially interested in the mental health of Latino populations.

Earlier this fall, he spoke at the AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk in Washington, DC during the bead ceremony, where everyone wears different colored ones to represent the loss of a loved one or to show support. Jeancarlo represented the purple beads, signifying loss of a family member or friend, and spoke about the friends his lost to su***de.
