Are you actually “getting older”… or are you getting deconditioned?🚷

A lot of what people label as aging—aches, low energy, slowing down—can often come back to something much more controllable. One of the biggest factors?
➡️MUSCLE LOSS⬅️

Less muscle doesn’t just affect strength—it impacts your metabolism, energy levels, joint support, and overall resilience. But how do you support your body for this?
Resistance training tells your body to keep muscle. Protein gives it the building blocks to maintain and repair it. Together, they’re what actually slow down the “deconditioning” process.🐢🪜

We’re happy to guide you through the process, send us an email and let’s dive into your health journey!💪

Hydration isn’t just about drinking more water—it’s about how well your body can actually use it.💧

➡️When you’re training, sweating, or just moving through a busy day, you’re losing more than fluids. Electrolytes and amino acids play a role in how you recover, maintain energy, and support muscle. That’s where adding something intentional can make a difference.

Amino support + Proper Hydration can help with keeping your recovery stable throughout the day. These are a few of our favorite drink supplements we have at Ampersand- available for purchase today‼️

Inevitably with age women are more prone to a physical shift in things hormones, bone density, muscle mass, and metabolism. Here are some of our 5 favorite tips for women maintaining their health!👸💪

➡️Your muscles are metabolic protection — lift heavy enough to maintain them

➡️Under-eating protein quietly accelerates fatigue and bone density loss

➡️Chronic stress reshapes hormones before you “feel” it

➡️Your metabolism doesn’t need less food — it needs consistency

➡️Bone density depends on force — your body needs resistance, not just movement

A lot of these changes don’t happen overnight. They build slowly, in the background, through what you do (or don’t do) every day. And the good news is… they can be supported the same way- with consistency and strength.🙌

Getting ready for summer garden season! Some of our favorite veggies to grow include:

🍅Tomatoes
🫑Peppers
🥒Zucchini
🥬 Kale and Spinach
🫛Green beans
🥕Carrots

There’s something so satisfying about planting, tending, and then actually enjoying the fruits (and veggies) of your labor. Fresh, homegrown, and way more flavorful than store-bought 🌱

What are you growing this year?

Some of the smallest nutrients in your body have a major impact on gut and overall health.🦠

➡️Micronutrients like vitamins and minerals support digestive enzyme production, maintain the integrity of the gut lining, and help regulate absorption.

➡️At the same time, a well-functioning gut is required to properly break down food and absorb those nutrients into the body.

If the gut is compromised, even a nutrient-dense diet may not be fully utilized. And if micronutrient intake is low, gut function can start to decline. Supporting your gut and getting in the right nutrients isn’t extra— both need to be supported for the body to function efficiently.

If you’ve been feeling stiff or stuck on this rainy morning, start here⤵️

Mobility isn’t just about stretching—it’s about building control through ranges your body doesn’t usually use.

🔥Slow rotational fire hydrants help open up the hips and improve control through rotation.

⚖️Balancing on a BOSU challenges stability and forces your body to coordinate from the ground up.

🏋️Offloaded kettlebell straight-leg deadlifts reinforce hinge mechanics while improving hamstring mobility without overload.

Move with intention, stay consistent, and your body will start to feel the difference.🚶‍♀️

“I just want what’s best for you…”

Because real food actually gives your body what it needs to function well.💪

Whole foods provide nutrients your body recognizes and can use efficiently. Lean protein supports muscle repair and keeps you feeling full. Healthy fats help regulate hormones and support long-lasting energy.

Give your body something real to work with.🌯🍜

When we talk about “energy,” we’re really talking about how efficiently your body produces ATP—the fuel your cells run on.🧠🔋

Resistance training improves how your mitochondria function, meaning your cells get better at creating and using energy. For example, over time your body can produce more ATP with less effort, which is why movements that once felt exhausting start to feel more manageable.🚶‍♂️🏃‍♂️💨

This isn’t just about getting stronger, it’s about making your body function more efficiently from the inside out.💪

Making notes: Recovery is Key!✍️

😴Sleep is when your muscles repair and your hormones reset, setting the foundation for how you feel the next day.

🥗Eating consistently throughout the day helps keep blood sugar stable, which supports deeper, more effective recovery overnight.

😌And rest days aren’t a step back—they’re when your body adapts to the work you’ve already put in and comes back stronger.

The more you support your recovery, the more your body can show up for you.🔋
