On November 6th, 2018, I was arrested for Aggravated Second Degree Battery and False Imprisonment with a deadly weapon. At the time, I was on parole for a previous felony and out on bond for Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling in Vernon Parish. I was a third-time convicted felon with a prior aggravated battery conviction—and I honestly thought my life was over.
But about a month and a half later, everything changed. I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ and allowed Him to transform me from the inside out.
Today marks seven years since I went to prison—a milestone that reminds me of God’s faithfulness and mercy.
This morning, I woke up to Jeremiah 29:11 as the verse of the day:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (NLT)
That was God’s rhema word to me in prison—His personal promise that He would one day send me home. Today, I live in that promise. I’m walking in that hope.
If you’re going through a tough season right now, be encouraged—trust God. His plans are still good. His word is still true. What He’s done for me, He can do for you.
