Happy New Year Utah! Instead of setting new year resolutions this year, maybe consider something slightly different. Analyze this past year. What did you achieve? What did you come up short on and why?

You've heard that coming up short and failure are excellent learning opportunities. However, they're only learning opportunities when one puts forth the effort to evaluate the experience, identifying important factors, and implementing long-lasting change.

As we age, our bodies become less effective of maintaining themselves. With time we lose our abilities to generate hormones effectively, lose bone/muscle density, and other distasteful consequences. All is not lost, however.

Often, you will be aware of what changes you need to make in order to improve your health (i.e., I probably should not have eaten those 7 Krispy Kreme doughnuts). However, our good intentions are often thwarted with analysis paralysis. Often, an urge to improve health is followed by a Google search that bombards you with conflicting direction. In the end, an urge and search for improved health ends in no action being taken at all.

Our clinic is part of a healthcare revolution that is just beginning. People are recognizing that the medical system in our country does not keep them healthy as much as it keeps them alive if serious injury or illness occurs.

Furthermore, most of the food we eat hurts our bodies while enriching nutrition companies. We have a never-ending stream of exercise, diet, and mental health recommendations for what the "right thing" to do is.

Honu Medical helps you cut through the noise and take the necessary action to ensure you live a long and healthy life. We're a family practice which traditionally has not made much of an impact in people's lives other than prescribing the occasional antibiotic. However, we believe that the family practice is perfectly poised to change lives more than any other healthcare organization.
