Designing a yoga class around the needs of students is one of my favorite things to do as a yoga instructor.

There’s an art to sequencing yoga poses (aka asanas) to optimize balance, strength, and mobility. I encourage everyone to communicate their intentions, needs, desires, and goals with their yoga instructors in order to work on postures that give the benefits you want.

The benefits are especially great for those who are recovering from injuries/limitations, for anyone looking to cross train and balance high impact exercises, and for those who want to build resilience and mitigate against the effects of stress, trauma, and anxiety.

This inspirational card deck has transformed my practice. I’ve never been good at gratitude journaling but pulling a card every morning and spending the day reflecting on it has positively impacted my day and mindset. Daily acknowledgment of what I feel grateful for is also helping me observe what brings me . I see clearly that the two are very much connected.

Goat yoga is not a fad.
Animal therapy combined with yoga provides a level of comfort when trying something new and unfamiliar for those individuals who suffer from trauma, anxiety, and depression. It’s meant to add another layer of emotional support, curiosity, and playfulness without additional instructions. Animals we trust present opportunities to safely explore what’s around us as well as what’s inside us.
Some studies show it helps increase relaxation, safety awareness, and social relationships.

The Prana Room is a Yoga and Meditation Studio. We offer guided yoga and meditation classes, continuing education workshops, and yoga teacher trainings. Our focus is to build a community where we can educate and provide a safe place for you to practice your mind-body connection through principles of Yoga and Meditation.

The Bhagavad Gita teaches that the Nature of Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self. So what does that mean? It means developing a mind body connection through a practice that connects movement to breath. It means learning to appreciate the intelligence your body has to offer and not just the mind’s. A practice that reveals areas where you are ready for more growth in your physical, mental, and spiritual nature. It’s a practice that settles you into the present moment, anchored by your breath, and it’s power to sustain you.

Yoga and meditation offers the gift of tapping into your fullest potential by anchoring you to the present moment where you will feel free of anxiety regarding your future or depression by ruminating on your past. Here at the Prana Room, it is our mission to provide a safe space, free of judgement, so that you can begin your mind-body connection. We honor your practice at your pace.

Memberships: $39 monthly pass, $50 for a 5 class punch pass, $10 Drop in rate.
