Being nice keeps things smooth. Being kind keeps things real.

Niceness often comes from fear - fear of being disliked, of causing discomfort, of rocking the boat. But kindness?

Kindness comes from love. It’s the courage to care enough to be honest, to set boundaries, to speak truth with compassion.

💛 Nice says: ‘It’s fine,’ when it’s not.
💛 Kind says: ‘I care about you, but this doesn’t feel okay to me.’
💛 Nice avoids conflict.
💛 Kind invites growth — even if it’s uncomfortable.

Choose kindness. It might not always be soft, but it’s always real.

Yes, even therapists need therapy.

We spend our days holding space for others, but that means we also need a space for us. Here’s why many of us go to therapy ourselves:

1️⃣ To process the emotional weight of the work — we’re human too.
2️⃣ To stay self-aware and notice when our own stuff starts showing up in sessions.
3️⃣ To practice what we preach — growth, reflection, and vulnerability.
4️⃣ To prevent burnout and show up fully for our clients.
5️⃣ Because healing is an ongoing process, not a one-time event.

It’s not always easy to do what we encourage our clients to do — to sit with discomfort, to be honest with ourselves, to ask for help. But it’s essential.

The more we take care of us, the better we can take care of you.

Did you grow up feeling like the adult in your family?
That’s called parentification, and it’s more common than we realize.

When kids take on emotional or practical caregiving roles too soon, it can shape their adult lives — often leading to anxiety, burnout, and people-pleasing patterns.

The good news: research shows these patterns can heal.
Through therapy, self-compassion, and learning to receive care, you can build safety around not having to hold it all.

Healing isn’t about blaming your parents — it’s about giving your inner child the care they deserved all along.

Why do some couples try swinging? For some, it's about exploring fantasies, reigniting passion, or deepening trust through radical honesty. Does it work? It can — if both partners are genuinely curious, communicate openly, and set clear boundaries. But it’s not a fix for a broken relationship. Want to bring it up? Start by expressing curiosity, not pressure: 'I read something interesting about consensual non-monogamy — what do you think about that?' Keep it a conversation, not a proposal. Openness, not obligation, is the key.

Stop saying “I’m so OCD” when you just like things a certain way.

Because unless it’s disrupting your life, it’s probably not OCD.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a serious mental health condition — not a personality trait or a love for clean aesthetics. According to the DSM-5 (the diagnostic manual used by professionals), OCD is defined by:

➡️ Obsessions – intrusive, unwanted thoughts, images, or urges that cause distress
➡️ Compulsions – repetitive behaviors or mental acts a person feels driven to perform to reduce anxiety or prevent something bad from happening

It’s not just about liking symmetry or keeping your room tidy. People with OCD often know their thoughts and behaviors don’t make sense, but feel powerless to stop them. It can be exhausting, isolating, and even debilitating.

Studies show OCD affects about 2–3% of the population, and it’s not the same as being “organized” or “particular.” Those things are preferences. OCD is a disorder.

Language matters. Let’s respect what people with OCD actually go through.

Is flirting always cheating? The answer isn’t one-size-fits-all. In healthy relationships, the line between playful banter and betrayal is defined together. If you or your partner feel unsure, uncomfortable, or conflicted about flirting—it’s time for an honest conversation.

Let’s talk about:

🔹 Setting clear boundaries
🔹 Understanding emotional vs. physical infidelity
🔹 Communicating expectations without shame or judgment
🔹 Navigating jealousy with empathy

Every couple has their own rules—what matters is that you both agree on them.

Can you prevent your partner from cheating? No! But you can lay a healthy foundation of open communications and honesty.
