Civica now offers Sodium Phosphate Injections, USP, which is indicated as a source of phosphorus, for addition to intravenous fluids, to prevent or correct hypophosphatemia (dangerously low phosphate levels in the blood) in patients with restricted or no oral intake.

Civica members help prioritize the medications the company provides. The company’s current offerings include generic sterile injectables, which, due to their low cost, are particularly susceptible to shortage. Shortages of these essential medications can delay medical care and negatively impact patient outcomes.

Civica Rx was created for the express purpose of preventing and mitigating drug shortages. As this chart from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists shows, shortages are a chronic problem. Since our founding in 2018, Civica has been able to reliably supply our hospital members with the vital generic injectable medications that their patients need, despite these shortages.
