Dr. Ankush ( Tony) Gulati, a nephrologist with the Kidney Institute of Florida, partnered with Bayer Pharmaceuticals to raise awareness of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in our community.

Yesterday, we had an incredible discussion emphasizing the importance of urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR) testing in clinical practice and the four pillars of renal protection: RAAS blockade, SGLT2 inhibitors, nonsteroidal MRAs, and GLP-1 receptor agonists—all critical components in slowing CKD progression and improving outcomes.

Thank you to Bayer—especially Kimberly Cantillon and Kevin—for your partnership and commitment to CKD education.

Grateful for meaningful conversations that continue to move CKD education, prevention, and care forward. 💙🩺

Did you happen to know?

~An ACR test (Albumin-to-Creatinine Ratio) is one of the earliest and most important screenings to detect kidney damage — often long before symptoms appear.

Why ACR Testing Is Important:

🔍 Early detection: Finds small amounts of protein in the urine, a key sign your kidneys need support.

🩺 Fast & simple: It’s a quick urine test—no special prep needed.

⏳ Prevents progression: Catching kidney issues early can help protect kidney function for years to come.

December Kidney Wellness Tip:

If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of kidney disease, talk to your provider about getting your ACR test this month.
