We had a blast at our Country-Themed Happy Hour — complete with country tunes, good eats, cold drinks, fun cowboy hats, and a whole lot of corn shuckin’ fun!

Thanks to everyone who came out for our Casino Night Happy Hour!

Great company, a few lucky hands, and lots of laughs made for a fun evening. Our residents, staff, and guests all loved the event. We enjoyed live music from the Men in Black Band, savored a delicious assortment of foods, and decorated our dining room to create a casino-themed atmosphere, all while having a wonderful time together.

🌟 Meet Sandra 🌟

Sandra first joined our community a year and a half ago at our health center, and recently transitioned to our Assisted Living neighborhood — a move she says that has brought her more comfort, freedom, and joy. 💛

🗣️ “What I love most is the freedom to do things on my own schedule. I have my own space, and everyone — the residents and staff — have been so kind.”

For Sandra a big change wasn't easy for her, but with the support of our amazing team, the transition was smooth. “The nursing team and staff are wonderful,” she shared. “They help me feel more independent and comfortable every day.”

🍽️ She’s also discovered a new favorite dish — our meatloaf! “I usually don’t like meatloaf, but I LOVE the one here.”

🎉 When it comes to fun, Sandra is all in for Bingo and our Bingo Bucks Store! “The prizes are always great, and I always find something I need.”

Her advice to others considering assisted living? “I really recommend it here. It’s quiet, peaceful, and everyone is so nice. You never have to worry.”

Meet Magaly Gonzalez, known by most as Maggie. Maggie was raised in Guatemala but has been in Ohio for 22 years. She is married to her husband Carlos, and they have been together for 25 years and married for 21 years! Maggie is the mother of 3 amazing children, 2 girls and boy. Jennifer is her oldest and she is 20, Jonathan is her middle child and he is 15 and her youngest is Jayla and she is 11. The family has both a dog and a cat that they all adore. She enjoys cooking food for her family, spending time with her kids, going to church, working out and running.

Maggie has worked at The Meadows of Leipsic for 6 and a half years. This was her first job since she had come to Ohio. Prior to that she had been a stay-at-home mom. Maggie is a Resident Care Associate but also works in the Life Enrichment Department as well. This is a job that Maggie enjoys very much. She loves spending time with the residents and creating bonds with each one of them. Maggie feels that The Meadows of Leipsic has given her so many wonderful opportunities and she is so grateful for that. Maggie has so many memories with each of the residents but one stands out more than the rest. There was one time that the power had gone out and the residents all gathered together and kept each other company, telling stories and laughing. They were having so much fun they forgot the power had even gone out.

Applying for a job at The Meadows of Leipsic was an amazing step for Maggie and she says she’ll always be grateful for the opportunity that was given to her.
