It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Karl Reed, age 70, of Leitchfield, who departed this life on August 8, 2025, at his beloved home. Karl was a devoted husband, a cherished father and grandfather, and a dedicated professional. He spent 35 years as a heating and air service technician, followed by a decade as a truck driver with Spirit Miller Trucking, where he embraced the open road and the thrill of delivering goods across 46 states. His passion for cars, particularly in buying and selling vintage models, also brought him great joy.

Born on September 27, 1954, in Howe Valley, Kentucky, Karl was the son of Herbert Reed and the late Jean Martin Reed. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Rebecca Darst Reed, with whom he celebrated 54 years of partnership.

Karl's legacy will live on through numerous family members, including his beloved grandson, Kaelin Reed (Felisha); a step great-grandson, Canaan Riggs; two sisters, Julia Givens and Karen Taber; two brothers, Dale Reed and Mike Reed; and many cherished nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by his mother, his son, Terrance "Adam" Reed; his great-grandson, Kashden Reed; and his brother, Harold Reed.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Leitchfield Funeral Home on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service to honor Karl's life will follow at 1:00 PM, also at Leitchfield Funeral Home, with burial to take place in the Hobert Cemetery.

Bob Michael Korb, age 65, of Clarkson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. A devoted family man, Bob's generous spirit and unwavering kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.

In life, Bob served honorably in the United States Army, embodying the values of service and sacrifice. He was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, and his welcoming demeanor meant he never met a stranger. His warmth and ability to connect with others made him a cherished friend and confidant to many.

As a loving husband, father, and grandfather, Bob found joy in the simple pleasures of life-spending time with his family, sharing stories around the dinner table, and enjoying the thrill of hunting in nature. His love for his family was evident, and he leaves behind a legacy of affection that will continue to resonate through generations.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his late wife Peggy Korb, and his son Raymond Korb. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy Hewitt Korb; his six children, Laura Spencer, Charles Korb, Willam Korb, Mikey Korb, David Kays, and Steven Hewitt; his sisters, Linda Korb Johnson Douglas, Stephany Kays; and several grandchildren, extended family, and close friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation for Bob will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Leitchfield Funeral Home in Leitchfield, KY. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM at the same location. Following Bob's wishes, he will be cremated. Bob will be laid to rest at Ollie Cemetery in Edmonson County, where he will find his eternal peace surrounded by loved ones.

James Willard Ray, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, at the age of 84 in Leitchfield, KY. Born on July 25, 1941, in the small town of Shrewsbury, KY, he was a son of James Washington Ray and Myrtle Priddy Ray. James dedicated his life to hard work and devoted over 58 years of service as a Sales Associate at McCubbins Furniture, where he was known for his warm greetings and customer-friendly demeanor.

James holds a special place in the hearts of his family and friends, leaving a legacy brightly illuminated by his passions for hunting, fishing, and his favorite gospel and bluegrass music. His love for the great outdoors and the joy he found in simple pleasures were what endeared him to many.

He is survived by his loving children, Shelia Tyra, James "Jamie" Ray (Loura), and Lisa Kerr. James also leaves behind his beloved siblings, Willa Dean Tate, Aileen Stewart, and brother Tommy Ray (Lynna), who will forever remember him as the caring and dedicated brother he was. His five grandchildren-James Ray (Samantha), Adam Kerr (Kim), Shelbi Tyra (Briana), Tanner Tyra, and Spencer Ray (Taylor)-along with six great-grandchildren, including Trigger, Gunner, Ryder, Emma, Hannah, and Walker, will carry forward his memory in their hearts. He is also survived by his significant other Marilyn Quiggins.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Myrtle Ray; a son, James William Ray; two cherished grandchildren, Jenna Ray Glasscock and Alex Kerr; along with siblings Roma Ray, Henry Ray, Mary Logsdon, and Dorothy Logsdon.

In remembrance of James' life, visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Leitchfield Funeral Home. A service celebrating his life will follow at 2:00 PM that same day, honoring the remarkable man he was and the love he shared with those around him.

Following the service, James will be laid to rest at Shrewsbury Cemetery in Leitchfield, KY, where family and friends are welcome to gather to pay their final respects.

Alvin D. Elmore Sr., age 81, of Clarkson, Kentucky, peacefully departed this world on July 30, 2025, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born on October 29, 1943, he was the cherished son of the late Albert Elmore and Winnie Pearl Langley.

Alvin shared a profound love with his wife, Zita Frank Elmore, for over 62 years, a bond that stood the test of time and weathered life's many seasons.

Alvin dedicated over 20 years of his life working for International Harvester in Louisville, where he showcased not just his skilled hands but his unwavering commitment to his craft. He was a guiding light in his family and a pillar of his community, often found witnessing to people about the Lord. His spirit and generosity touched the lives of many.

He is survived by a devoted family that includes his son, Alvin Elmore Jr. (Angela), daughters: Carol Dianne Beck (Tim), Alvina Kay Floyd (Keith), and Susan Kirk. He leaves behind a legacy of love in the form of 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward the warmth and kindness he radiated throughout his life.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of Alvin Elmore during the visitation hours at Leitchfield Funeral Home. Public viewings will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with Bro. Wayne Clemmons officiating. Following the service, Alvin will be laid to rest in the serene embrace of Antioch Church Cemetery, where family and friends can return to reminisce and find solace in the beauty of a life well-lived.

Lila Jean Coots, age 68, of Irvington, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on July 18, 2025, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital in Hardinsburg. Born on July 9, 1957, in Morrow, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of the late Lloyd Prewitt and Mary Truitt Swift.

Lila was a devoted homemaker who poured her love into her family and her beautiful garden. Her greatest joy came from nurturing her five sons-Wally (Tanya), Bruce, Billy (Crystal), David (Victoria), and Steven-and she cherished every moment spent with them. Lila had a vibrant spirit, a warm smile, and a nurturing heart that made her the glue of her family. She also lovingly supported her extended family, including her sister Brenda, brothers Richard and James (Laura); sisters-in-law, Mary Camacho (Pete), Barbara Dominguez (Jay), and Myrtle Shephard; and her many nieces and nephews.

As we honor Lila's memory, her husband, William "Bill" Coots, alongside her sons, will be left with an abundance of precious memories and the love she so generously shared. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who will surely carry her spirit with them as they grow.

In honoring Lila's life, visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Leitchfield Funeral Home, and again on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with Bro. Joshua Milburn officiating the ceremony. Lila will be laid to rest in Calvert Church Cemetery, where her memory will forever be cherished by those who loved her.

Peggy Louise Harris, aged 93, of Clarkson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, due to natural causes. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 6, 1931, she was a mother and a social worker whose life was dedicated to the betterment of others.

Peggy earned her Bachelor's Degree and devoted her career to serving her community as a social worker. Her tireless work and commitment to helping those in need left a lasting impact on many lives.

She is survived by her son, Michael Harris, and her daughters, Penny Harris and Vicki Downs; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will be cherished by all who knew her.

In accordance with her wishes, Peggy will be cremated.

Peggy will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, her dedication to service, and the love she showed to her family and friends. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Peggy was preceded in death by: her husband Thomas Harris; and parents John Brannun, Ruth Roby Brannun.

James "Jimmy" Elbert Anderson, 77, a beloved resident of Clarkson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at his home. Born on September 27, 1947, in Jefferson County, he was the beloved son of the late Harold Ervin Anderson and Edna Rea Cannon Anderson. A proud Army veteran, Jimmy dedicated his career to serving his country through his work as a tank inspector with the Civil Service at Fort Knox. His strong sense of duty extended beyond his profession; he was also honored to serve as a constable for the Clarkson District for ten years, earning the respect and gratitude of his community. A member of Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church and a Mason at Wilhelm Lodge, Jimmy exemplified the values of service and integrity.Above all, Jimmy will be remembered for his deep love of family and the joy he found in outdoor activities. He cherished the moments spent bass fishing, and he thrived on the peace and exhilaration that turkey and deer hunting brought him.

He leaves behind his cherished wife of nearly 57 years, Kathy Anderson, whose laughter and companionship were the cornerstone of his life. His legacy continues through his children, Jimmy Anderson, David Anderson (Lana), Joey Anderson (Amy), and Catie Anderson. Jimmy is further survived by his brother, Andy Anderson (Kay) of New York, and his grandchildren: Bradley, Savannah, Tyler, Kelsey, Madi, Johnathon, and Stephanie Anderson, as well as a grandson, Josiah Anderson, expected to join the family soon. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Karter, Myles, Iris, and Camden Anderson. He joins in eternal rest his grandson Jacob and his brother, Harold Thomas Anderson.

Visitation for Jimmy will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Leitchfield Funeral Home, and again on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A masonic service will be held 6:00 PM, Sunday, July 6, 2025 by Wilhelm Lodge. His life will be honored with a funeral service at 11:00 AM on July 7, 2025, officiated by Bro. Murel Meredith, followed by burial at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church Cemetery with graveside rites by American Legion Post #81.
