Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center

Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center By 1976, Grayson County War Memorial Hospital employed 124 people and was outgrowing its 40-bed facility. Compassionate Care."

Our vision is to be recognized by the people we serve as the provider of choice for their healthcare needs and as a leading force for progressive change within our community. In 1951, concerned citizens of Grayson County, KY made a commitment to serve the medical needs of our community by incorporating Grayson County War Memorial Hospital. Located in downtown Leitchfield, the most vivid memories of the old hospital focus on people -- the dedicated staff members who were always on hand to meet the needs of the patients and families. The community again responded to the need, and in 1979, the hospital relocated to Wallace Avenue to a new two-story, 75-bed facility, renamed Grayson County Hospital. With a larger, modern-equipped hospital, and office space to attract new physicians to the area, the hospital and its services to the community began to flourish. By the early 1990s, the hospital's medical staff had more than doubled and its primary service area had grown beyond the borders of Grayson County. It was no longer just a "county" hospital-- it had come to be recognized as a regional healthcare provider. Thus, the Board of Directors, looking to the future, renamed the hospital, "Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center," to more truly represent its growth and status throughout the area. From five physicians in 1979 to today's active Medical Staff of over 30 doctors representing 11 specialties, Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center remains committed to its pledge to provide "Medical Excellence.

Join us in celebrating our newest DAISY Award recipient, Candy Corley, RN, from the Labor and Delivery team!

The DAISY Award is a globally recognized program that honors the compassionate and exceptional care provided by nurses. It was established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, to express gratitude to the nurses who cared for him. We are so proud to have nurses like Candy on our team.

When asked how it feels to be recognized, she said, "It’s humbling. I’m surrounded by an incredible team and I see nurses doing amazing work every day. I’m just grateful to be part of that."

We are so grateful to have you on the Owensboro Health team, Candy!

The work of our Environmental Services team is so much more than keeping our hospital clean; it's about building a space of healing and trust. They go above and beyond every single day, creating an environment that is not just safe and well-maintained, but genuinely welcoming for everyone. OHTLMC was honored to be a part of the third annual Farm to Fork Dinner hosted by the Grayson County Kentucky Cooperative Extension Office. It was a wonderful evening in downtown Leitchfield, and the meal was all sourced from local producers.

This event also supported a great cause. All proceeds from the dinner benefited the Grayson County Alliance Food Pantry.

OHTLMC is proud to support our communities.

What a great night for football--and Owensboro Health Game On!--as Grayson County hosted McLean County last night in Leitchfield!

F**t Fiddle and the Twin Lakes team tossed special edition footballs to fans on both sidelines. Then we played punt-pass-kick with two awesome high school students, including Carson Dennis, who took home the $500 prize!

Thank you GCHS for hosting us and to both schools for being part of the fun!

Owensboro Health is proud to support high school athletics across the region, and we can't wait for next week's Game On! at Hancock County!

Join the Grayson County Extension Service and the Owensboro Health Community Health Committee for the second annual FitTober walking program, October 1 – 30! It could not be any easier to participate!

1. Register by visiting https://uky.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4SYrg48l0T8ETs2 or calling the Extension Office at (270) 259-3492.

2. On October 1st, begin tracking your steps. You can use a pedometer, a watch, your phone, an app, or anything that will track your steps.

3. Record your daily steps using a system that works for you - write them on a post it note, in a notebook, on a tracker, in your calendar, use an app - literally whatever fits your needs!

4. Come to James D. Beville City Park (date/time TBD), hand us your total number of steps for the month, get some goodies for participating, and be on your way. You don’t even have to step foot outside of your car!

The first 50 participants with more than 210,000 steps (that’s just 7,000 steps per day!) for the month will receive a free t-shirt. Everyone will receive a free gift for participating (even your four-legged friends that might walk with you!). We are using the honors system for steps reporting, whether you get 1000 or 10,000 steps a day, they all count!

FitTober is for everyone! Movement and physical activity are important for all of us, but it’s hard to be motivated to do it. Once we can start seeing or feeling the benefits of physical activity, it becomes a little easier to keep it up. We will be with you every step of the way. I hope you will join us as we live, work, and move TOGETHER! Registration will remain open through October 3rd.
