Dr. Cornell will lead our medical staff office, overseeing credentialing, onboarding, and provider policies. He’ll also champion clinical quality, patient experience, physician engagement, and performance metrics across the system.

“Dr. Cornell has consistently demonstrated leadership and excellence throughout his career,” said Dr. Francis DuFrayne, Chief Medical Officer. “He is the right leader to guide our physician culture in the years ahead.”

University of Louisville School of Nursing is excited to offer an Accelerated Second Degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in Owensboro. This hybrid program — where course lectures are offered online and clinical and lab experiences occur in person — prepares students with a bachelor's degree in any area outside of nursing to become entry-level professional nurses in just 15 months. Applications are being accepted now through November 15 for priority consideration.

Stronger than 1 offers a community for kids and adults living with Type 1 Diabetes. Participants gain knowledge on managing Type 1 Diabetes while sharing experiences, practical advice and emotional support.
Breakout groups for children, adults and caregivers are offered to meet individual needs.
Meetings are free and open to everyone. Join us at 5 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of each month (August 19) at the Healthpark in Classroom B.

Due to severe weather conditions, Owensboro Health facilities will have the following schedule adjustments on Monday, January 6:

• All Owensboro Health primary care, specialty care and urgent care locations will be closed.
• Urgent care telehealth appointments are available. Learn more at OwensboroHealth.org/Weather.
• Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center will be closed, and appointments will be rescheduled.
• Owensboro Health Regional Hospital lab will be open for walk-in patients. All other outpatient lab locations will be closed.
• Owensboro Health imaging centers will be closed.
• Owensboro Health Home Care will triage patients based on priority.
• Ambulatory Surgery Center and Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center surgery will be closed.
• Community Pharmacy at the Springs will be closed. OHRH Outpatient Pharmacy will be open.
• HealthPark fitness center and therapies will be closed.
• The call center will remain open to take messages and forward them to clinics for follow-up.

- As always, our Emergency Departments will remain open should you need care.

- If you have a scheduled appointment, your provider will contact you to reschedule.
