We have partied hard for days for a very special ladyās 100th birthday! Our sweet Ms. Virginia turned 100 years old today! š„³šš©·
We were blessed to host many of her family and friends for a party on Saturdayāclose to 100 people for her 100 years!! It was so sweet to celebrate her!
Today, we were blessed to host family and friends for her special birthday lunch. She requested fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, a roll, and banana cake. It was all sooo delicious, and we are all stuffed! š
When I asked Ms. Virginia her favorite age, favorite memory, or favorite decade of her life so far, she said she isnāt sure of what that would be! Sheās had such a full, meaningful, and beautiful life that itās hard to decide. She worked hardāshe can remember walking a good distance to school in a one room school house while packing her lunch in a bucket at a young age, milking cows and helping at times when things were hard on the farm, learning to sew, making her own clothing, working in the kitchen with her mom and other family members. She also vividly remembers riding in a horse drawn buggy with her siblings one Easter that it had snowed and they all had to make it to church! Itās amazing to think of all the changes she has seen in her lifetime.
Ms. Virginiaās life reminds me of a scripture verse in 1 Thessalonians; she has led a quiet life, she has worked with her hands, and she loves othersā¦she has now been doing all of that for a whole century! What a wonderful blessing her life has been to so many, and we are so honored that she is a part of our life each day. Happy 100th Birthday, Ms. Virginia! We love you and are so thankful to have you as a member of our BeeHive family! š©·ššš„³
