The Beginning of Bee Hive Homes of Grayson County
In 2008, John and Mary Nell Bouvier discovered Bee Hive Homes from a friend whose mother was a resident at a Bee Hive Home in Brandenburg. At that time, Mary Nell was working as a long term care Administrator and John had retired from a career in law enforcement and criminal justice. They lived in Owensboro, KY.
The Bouvierโs began researching and visiting Bee Hive Homes. They liked the Bee Hive concept of an assisted living community, usually located in a small town, that feels like a real home. After some research, they believed that Bee Hive Homes offered them the opportunity to use their business experience and talents. A Bee Hive Homes mentor pointed them to the Leitchfield/Grayson County area, noting that it was a growing and progressive community.
Community leaders were welcoming and helpful. It didnโt take long for the Bouviers to realize they had made the right choice. In November 2011, Bee Hive Homes of Grayson County opened. In 2016 we were named the Small Business of the Year by the Grayson County Chamber of Commerce. Today, Bee Hive employs 17 staff members. Occupancy is usually 95-100%. The Bouviers moved to the Rough River Lake are in 2012 to ensure they are involved in the day to day operations of their Bee Hive.
