January is Glaucoma Awareness month!

Yearly eye exams are important because they can detect serious eye diseases, such as glaucoma, early—often before any symptoms appear. Glaucoma is known as the “silent thief of sight” because it usually causes no pain or noticeable vision problems until permanent damage has already occurred. During an eye exam, an eye doctor can measure eye pressure, examine the optic nerve, and test peripheral vision to identify early signs of the disease. Since vision loss from glaucoma cannot be reversed, early detection through regular eye exams is crucial because treatment can slow or stop further damage. 💚
