It is open enrollment season for Medicare and we are happy to say patients in North Carolina have a choice in which pharmacy they use starting 2022. We have a no cost, licensed insurance agent in the store today (10/12/21) to help you sign up for Medicare part D from 9am-5pm. Mr. Ron is one of the most knowledgeable people I’ve ever met when it comes to insurance plans. Let him help you navigate your path to good insurance coverage!

After a long wait, we finally have Endit back in stock! For those that aren't familiar with this product, it is the best skin protectant on the market. It is great for diaper rash, heat rash, or most skin irritations that are related to friction. It was made by Mr. Douglas Roycroft, RPh in Shallotte, NC back in 1967 and is still used by UNC hospitals and New Hanover Regional Medical Center hospital. Get it while supplies last!

According to CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19, we are happy to announce that they have lifted the mask mandate for fully vaccinated individuals while indoors! We are also happy to announce our entire staff is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 so we will be lifting the mask mandate for the store this afternoon. We do respectfully ask that those that are not vaccinated to still wear their mask while indoors (until we reach herd immunity) as we have no way to verify each persons vaccination status. We also are still providing the Moderna vaccine to those patients 18 and up, so feel free to call and schedule an appointment today.

We want to thank every one for the interest in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine from Hickman's Pharmacy. We are still going to be receiving the vaccine, however due to the uncertainty in the supply chain, we have decided to stop taking names for our wait list. We received over 1000 requests in a week, which is encouraging and we are hopeful to get them soon and vaccinate everyone. We just feel it would be irresponsible to keep taking names when we don't have enough information to ensure we can quickly take care of even more patients. Thank you for your understanding.

First, thank you to all our supporters who have used us in the last year. You made our opening year a success even in the middle of a global pandemic. We want to wish everyone a happy and healthy start to 2021.

We will be closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this week in observance of New Years Day. We will reopen on Monday at 8:30.

We are happy to announce we have partnered with a national network involved in Operation Warp Speed. This means we WILL be receiving the COVID-19 vaccine once it is approved by the FDA. The earliest we expect to receive any vaccine (if they are approved by emergency action) is January/February time frame. We are going to follow the government suggested protocol for determining who gets shot first, but we suspect it will be health care workers, patients 65+ years old and patients with health conditions that put them at risk. We will update in the coming weeks as we know more, but we are excited to be a part of getting the US back to normal!

Hickman's Pharmacy will be closed on Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day. We will reopen with normal business hours on Tuesday September 8th. We hope everyone has a restful and relaxing weekend.

In anticipation of the effects of the tropical storm, Hickman’s Pharmacy will be closing at 5pm today. We will be opening tomorrow at 9am. We hope everyone is safe during the storm!

With the latest from the NHC, we are becoming concerned about the path of Isaias. We recommend all of our patients check their medication supply to ensure they have enough to get through at least one week in case they are stuck at home or out of town. We are planning on being open early Monday if the storm stays on the current path and will make a decision about closing as the weather progresses. We do have a generator and an emergency plan so we will be here to ride out the storm. Everyone stay safe and let us know if we can help!

With quarantine shutting down most fireworks displays in the surrounding areas, we are anticipating higher than normal “home displays”. We know they can be stressful events for our furry patients, so we wanted to remind everyone that we do carry pet CBD tinctures to help calm their nerves and keep them relaxed. So proud of our friends in the Shelmore stitching club. They have given us 3 batches of homemade cloth face masks to give out to our patients and they are delivering them to high exposure groups throughout the area. This is what makes this a great place to live.....everyone behaving selflessly and working as a group to help protect those at the most risk. Proud to know these folks!

Also, we still have FREE cloth masks here for adults and children. Stop in today to grab them while you can!

We had our first upgrade to the pharmacy this weekend! After moving cabinets around and redoing our lab layout, we now have an unguator that will allow us to make custom creams and ointments (pain creams for injuries or neuropathy, medications that aren’t tolerated in oral form, etc) for our patients. We are excited to provide this expanded service in the coming weeks!

COVID-19 Update 5/26/2020

We have decided to amend our Social Distancing Protocol for the pharmacy. As we are entering Phase II of Governor Cooper’s plan, we are allowing patients WEARING MASKS to enter the pharmacy if they would like to shop. Studies have definitively shown that when everyone wears a mask, transmission of airborne diseases goes down significantly. We do ask that you limit touching to items that you intend on purchasing. If you have questions about an item, Wes is happy to go over the best medical option for your needs.
If you are more comfortable with curbside service, we are still offering that as well. Just knock on the door or call and we will happily take care of your transaction. Free delivery is still available for prescriptions, just ask our pharmacy team for details. Thank you for helping keep our community safe and healthy as we try to limit the spread of this disease.

Wes’ cell phone unfortunately stopped working yesterday. If you have tried to call, text, or message him on his phone or through this page, he has not been able to receive it. We will be closed Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day (and Wes & Ashley's seven year wedding anniversary!). We hope everyone has a safe and restful holiday! We will reopen with normal hours on Tuesday, May 26th.

It took us 181 days to reach a triple digit daily prescription count! Never in my wildest dreams did I think we would be at this point after 6 months (especially after the setback of the Coronavirus and delays in network enrollment).

Good afternoon! We just wanted to let everyone know that we have the "FDA recipe" hand sanitizer in stock for 8oz $12.00 a bottle and a 16oz bottle for $24.00. We also have a very limited supply of N95 masks for $8.00, surgical face masks for $2.00, and gloves in all sizes. We also have a few childrens cloth masks that were donated by the "Shelmore Stitchers Club" in Brunswick Forest. We have 3 left and they are first come/first serve for our little patients!

When COVID-19 shuts down the school system....every day is bring your kid to work day when you own a family business. Not going to lie....it hasn’t been horrible brushing up on my Mario skills between patients.

We are happy to announce we have 70% isopropyl alcohol, Medium & Large gloves, oral thermometers, as well as 3 ply surgical masks!

We are currently sold out of our homemade handsanitizer, but we are hoping to have some more of the ingredients tomorrow. If we receive them, I will make it tomorrow evening and have for sale on Friday.
