Happy March! A new month is a chance to reset, even if it’s just in small ways. Spring shows us that change doesn’t happen overnight. Seasons shift slowly, and we do too.

Mental health isn’t about instant transformation. It’s about gradual progress, even when it’s hard to see. This month, try to notice the small steps you’re taking and give yourself some patience along the way. 🌼

🌶️ Carolina Dunes Chili Cookoff Results Are In! 🌶️

With three entries, the competition was strong and the flavors were even stronger!

After tallying the votes, here’s how it finished:
🥇 1st Place: Kian Richards – Turkey Chili
🥈 2nd Place: Thomas Chaundy – Pork Chili
🥉 3rd Place: Ashley Pendley – Vegetarian Chili

Thank you to everyone who participated and voted! It’s always great to see our team come together for a little friendly competition (and great food).

Until next time… who’s bringing the heat? 🔥

🥣🏈 Carolina Dunes Souper Bowl Showdown! In honor of National Soup Day, our team turned up the heat with a little friendly competition — our very own “Souper Bowl”!

We had 7 incredible entries, and let’s just say… choosing a winner was not easy. Every soup was delicious and the votes were close!

After tallying the taste-test results, here were our top three:
🥇 1st Place – Kandy Ashley
Louisiana Shrimp & Corn Chowder
🏆 Winner of a three-pot crockpot set

🥈 2nd Place – Maggie Jones
Jamaican Chicken Soup
🏆 Winner of a two-pot crockpot set

🥉 3rd Place – Tiffany Dehart
Baked Potato Soup
🏆 Winner of a one-pot crockpot

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and made this such a fun (and flavorful!) team event. Moments like these remind us that while we take our work seriously, we also know how to build culture, connection, and community.

Already looking forward to the next competition 👀✨

When you're facing something heavy like , , , or emotions you can’t quite name—it might feel easier to brush it aside. You tell yourself it’s “just a phase,” or that you’ll “get over it.” But here’s the truth: ignoring mental health concerns doesn’t make them disappear. It makes them grow.

Mental health concerns rarely show up overnight. They often start with subtle changes:
❤️ Withdrawing from friends or activities
❤️ Trouble sleeping or eating
❤️ Mood swings or persistent sadness
❤️ Difficulty focusing or getting through the day
❤️ Thoughts of hopelessness or being a burden
❤️ A sudden drop in performance or physical complaints like headaches or fatigue
💬 If you’ve noticed these signs in yourself—or someone you care about—it’s time to pay attention.

Here’s how to take that first step:
➡️ Talk to your primary care doctor
➡️ Reach out to a mental health provider or psychiatric facility
➡️ Call or text a mental health hotline for immediate support
➡️ Confide in someone you trust, no one should face this alone

If a loved one is struggling:
- Use “I” statements to express concern
- Avoid judgment or minimization
- Offer to help them take the next step
- Act fast if there’s risk of harm

💡 The sooner you act, the more options you have and the easier healing becomes. There is no shame in seeking help. In fact, it’s one of the bravest, most life-changing things you can do.

❤️ National Wear Red Day at Carolina Dunes ❤️

Our team showed up in red in recognition of National Wear Red Day earlier this month— a day dedicated to raising awareness about heart health.

From clinical to administrative, our staff proudly wore red to stand together in support of healthier hearts and healthier communities.

At Carolina Dunes, caring for others extends beyond the work we do every day. It’s about awareness, prevention, and encouraging one another to prioritize overall wellness — mind and body.

Thank you to our team for always showing up with heart. ❤️
