Today is International Women’s Day and we are celebrating by hosting a beautiful luncheon at Wrightsville Manor! At The Inspiration Lab, we’ve always been centered around women - from fostering meaningful connections to finding ways to inspire women each and every day. August is National Wellness Month

To honor that, we want to feature Dr. Jennifer Nomides who is one of the finalists on WILMA’s Women to Watch list!

Jen was recently on The Inspi Lab podcast as part of the leadership series. She and her sister run their own direct care medical practice in Wilmington, Coastal Direct Health & Wellness. She also serves as the medical director for a freestanding clinic in rural Haiti through a partnership with Aid International and as the medical director for Kythoni, Inc, a small nonprofit whose mission is to love through service.

Jen is an incredible leader in our community and her passion for medicine and helping others is evident in the work that she does.

While we continue our March Madness Promotion ($50.00 off enrollment fee), we are also using this time to educate about our practice as well as the Direct Primary Care (DPC) Model.

DPC clinics use monthly payments for typical primary care services. This fee is in place of traditional insurance billing for primary care services like yearly physical exams, sick/urgent care visits, and certain diagnostics and procedures (including GYN and dermatology procedures). Highly discounted rates for labs, pathology and radiology are also included with membership. Our practice's goal is to simplify medical access and care.

A True Family Practice

Kristin and Jennifer are sisters trained in Family Medicine. They both attended the University of North Carolina in Wilmington as undergraduates, four years apart, but found their way in to healthcare separately. Kristin obtained her bachelors degree in Nursing, worked for several years at Duke University Hospital, and then attended UNC Chapel Hill for a Master’s in Nursing to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology at UNCW, Jennifer made the decision to go to medical school as well as pursue a Master’s Degree in Public Health, focusing on Health Behavior and Health Education with a certificate in Global Health, both at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

After years of practicing separately in the hospital and primary care settings respectively, Jennifer and Kristin realized a shared vision for a practice of their own that would foster a slower paced, nurturing environment for patients. They ultimately desire to provide a place that will help people better achieve their health goals by giving them more access to their provider and decreasing the dictating involvement of insurance. They are interested in real, trust-filled relationships with their patients and addressing as many factors as possible that contribute to overall health and wellness.
