Join me on our most recent Podcast episode as Amy Brines, a massage therapist and Reiki Master Teacher, share the benefits of Reiki and its integration with massage therapy. Some key takeaways include:

•Reiki is a gentle hands-on healing modality that can promote healing, relieve stress, and help with physical pain.
•The energetic body is just as important as the physical body, and Reiki can help clear energetic blockages and facilitate better healing.
•Reiki can be beneficial for everyone, whether they are dealing with physical ailments, stress, anxiety, or emotional issues.
•Collaboration among healthcare providers is important to provide a well-rounded approach to healing and to address the different needs of individuals.

📣📢2 weeks away!!!!!📢📣

This event is going to be a great way to ‘try out’ several different wellness classes (barre, personal training, deep stretch yoga, and meditation), be inspired and gain resources (pelvic floor therapy, health & wellness coaching, prioritizing self care, food as medicine), enjoy some nutritious DELICIOUS snacks and infused waters, AND walk away with fun swag (microgreens, essential oil roll-on, protein powder, therapy massage ball, tote bag and more!!)!

Personally I think that on top of all of these amazing self-care goodies the very best part of this event is going to be the connections you will make- with wellness providers committed to meeting you where you are at on your journey & with other participants also curious about starting to prioritize their wellness. Connections that will help you on your wellness journey, regardless of where you are starting.

Tickets are $99. The value here is SO much more. Get your ticket today. Get 2 and bring a friend. I promise you won’t regret it. Invest in yourself today for a healthier and happier tomorrow.

There are generally four types of learners: visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and reading/writing.

👀 Visual learners learn best by seeing information presented in a graphical or visual format.

👂Auditory learners learn best by hearing information presented through lectures or audio recordings.

🙌 Kinesthetic learners learn best by experiencing or doing things hands-on.

📝 Reading/writing learners learn best by absorbing, analyzing, and journaling/re-writing information.

It's important to identify your learning style so that you can tailor your study habits and techniques to maximize your learning potential. Communicate with your healthcare team or web of support so everyone is confident understanding the plan of care and expectations.

We are reaching higher and farther in our NEW Podcast interviews!!

Join me as I chat with Lindsey Daehnke at Strictly Self Defense about the following topics:

•Creating a safe space and teaching consent are essential in self-defense training.
•Self-awareness and boundary-setting should be taught to individuals of all ages.
•Recognizing and addressing unhealthy relationships is crucial for personal safety.
•Having a plan and practicing preparedness can help individuals feel more confident and in control.
•Self-defense training can empower individuals and help them release stress and trauma. Instead of shaming or blaming yourself for the situation, reflect on the choices and consider what you would do differently next time to improve personal safety.
•Be open to listening to your children's negative experiences without judgment. Rather than reacting with shame and blame, ask them what they would do differently next time to help them plan and be more prepared.
•Take action and seek help and support if needed to enhance personal safety and well-being.
•Stay aware of your surroundings and pay attention to what's going on to minimize potential risks.

Take a listen and head to show notes for more details!

A good listener is an important skill that can improve relationships and communication. Here are some tips to help you become a better listener:

1. Pay attention: Focus on the person speaking and avoid distractions such as your phone, TV or other people.

2. Show interest: Show that you care about what the person is saying by using body language such as nodding and maintaining eye contact.

3. Ask questions: Ask questions to clarify what the person is saying and show that you are interested in what they have to say.

4. Don't interrupt: Allow the person to finish what they are saying before responding.

5. Summarize: Summarize what the person said to ensure that you understand their point of view.

6. Empathize: Try to understand the person's perspective and emotions.

By practicing these tips, you can become a better listener and improve your communication skills.

Now that you’ve skimmed over the last two posts about what RED-S (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport) is and the potential limitations of this syndrome, it’s time to figure out how to begin addressing and managing it.

Some of these steps may seem simple and straightforward. However, some of these recommendations may seem more challenging than what you anticipated. Self-compassion and avoiding the “limiting beliefs” or “guilt factors” we’ve engrained within our minds and bodies may take a little more work than you expect to overcome this obstacle.

This is where women’s health coaching can be beneficial. If any of the above self-care options seems like a steep hill to climb, it may be time to add a health coach to the team and support you through your journey to performing at your maximum potential.

It’s easy to make excuses for the symptoms we may be experiencing. We often try to link symptoms to conditions that may not be connected. However, this list of potential performance effects from Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport can be correlated. It’s important to have an open mind with treatment approaches and finding a healthcare team that supports an integrative care.

Team up with a women’s health coach to determine a great start point to addressing these symptoms today!

If you are involved in physical exercise and are a female, LISTEN UP:

As females, we have a unique hormonal rhythm that is regulated monthly. We have different needs to support our bone health, immunity, cardiovascular health, and metabolism to find homeostasis.

Physical activity is a wonderful method of regulating multiple systems in our bodies. But we have to be mindful that this also needs to be regulated.

How our bodies respond to HIIT workouts versus low-intensity steady-state exercise can determine whether this energy can enhance you or deplete your system.

Follow upcoming posts over the next week as we dive into what health consequences, performance effects, and recognizing different ways we can address this condition.

Does this apply to you, a family member, or friend? Need more individualized support? Reach out to learn more on how women’s health coaching can help you achieve your goals!

Pelvic floor physical therapy requires a lot of trust and respect.

Yes, I ask questions about:
💦 Bladder function
💩 Bowel function
💕 Sexual function

But I also ask questions about:
😴 Rest
🥦 Nutrition
💪🏻 Physical Activity
😬 Stress
🥰 Relationships and your support system

Pelvic floor physical therapy may be the first time you encounter some of the difficult or “taboo” questions. You are the driver in your healing journey. You can answer or ask any, all, or none of the questions. My goal is to create a safe space to explore what your limitations are and how we can work together to optimize your health.

Ready to ask the difficult questions or address your limitations you don’t talk about with others? Click the link in bio to make those changes NOW!

Quick Tip Tuesday!!

I know, I know. It’s tough to take a moment to use the restroom when you’re at work or rushing to finish errands.

But, do yourself (and your pelvic floor) a favor and TAKE. YOUR. TIME.

Urinating is a passive process and your pelvic floor has to relax. You got it, no effort should be required. The more you force it, the more your pelvic floor can weaken.

So sit down (or stand with your hand against the wall - I don’t know how you gentlemen choose to stand at the urinals) and just let it happen.

I give you permission to take a breather and relax. It’s called a bathroom BREAK for a reason.
