Pace Counseling & Consultation LLC Pace Counseling and Consultation LLC provides clinically mindful treatment when mental health and the whole person are in time of need. Amy Waugh, LCSW

I am the owner of Pace Counseling & Consultation LLC. I have worked in health and mental health in Central Pennsylvania my entire career and am excited to offer my knowledge, experience, skill, and creativity to help when mental health and the whole person are in time of need. Often, this is when we need to notice or change the pace of our lives, relationships, or the environment. My therapy is direct, interactive, and present focused (what's happening in the here and now). Our minds and relationships are as vital to health as movement and rest.

I would like to share a few photos of the cozy Pace office. A comfortable office is important for both the client and therapist. The beautiful photo of the bridge over the Susquehanna River was taken by local photographer Justin Ward.

We’ve been doing telehealth sessions for several weeks now at Pace, and I’ve had requests from clients and other therapists to share a list of Do’s and Don’ts on the blog. Some clients and colleagues have been doing this long before coronavirus drastically shifted our routines. Perhaps my newbie perspective can be a reminder or a reset. Let me know if I missed something!

We couldn't provide this essential service without support. Thankful for those who provide child care to essential workers. Thankful for family members who make it possible for us to continue working while work looks so much different the past few weeks. Thankful for peer support via consultation and supervision which are also essential during this crisis.

As I See It: Social workers are essential personnel, so why aren’t we talking about them? Massachusetts State Chapter Executive Director Rebekah Gerwirtz writes: "While the discussion of the role and importance of public health workers, such as doctors and nurses, on the front lines of the pandemic is important and warranted, we must not forget one other essential public health workforce: social workers. ...
