We recently had the chance to share our Hospice services at a Senior Resource Fair where we met a lot of wonderful people, some of whom shared their own personal stories with us. Resource Fairs are a wonderful free opportunity for the older population to learn about community resources. Thank you LCBC Church for hosting this event and allowing us to participate.

Next in our spotlight is our newest RN Case Manager, Andrew Viozzi. We're excited for Andrew to be part of our growing Team! See below for Andrew's bio:

My name is Andrew Viozzi and I am a Registered Nurse Case Manager for Pinnacle Hospice. I have been a registered nurse for 12 years with 7 years of experience in Hospice. My career started in an acute care hospital where I thought my interest was strongest until I realized there were so many needs in the community. I practiced for several years as a home health nurse until I realized that Hospice Care was what I was looking to do all along. I have watched people suffer at end of life including my own Father. I knew I could make a difference in providing comfort and care when it was needed most. It is a privilege to be an advocate for someone when they are reaching the end of their Journey and to provide comfort and assistance to their families especially when they feel like they are not getting the needs of their loved one addressed. It is an absolute privilege to get to know our patients and families and to be a part of their lives.

Today is National Children’s Grief Awareness Day, a day set aside to focus on the children in our lives who have experienced the death of a loved one. Grief can feel extremely lonely and isolating. It is important to remember to show our grieving children love, support and kindness today and every day, and to let them know that they do not have to walk their grief journey alone.

Our next spotlight features our fantastic Chaplain, Deborah Port. We're so happy to have her as part of our Team! See below for her bio.

My name is Deborah Port. I am the Chaplain at Pinnacle Hospice. I have been providing end-of-life care for 22 years as a CNA, a family member, and for the last 13 years as a pastor. I have a BA from UPenn in Jewish Studies and an MDiv from Evangelical Theological Seminary where my studies focused on teaching and marriage and family therapy. I have also been involved in interfaith community projects in the greater Harrisburg Area for the past 8 years. It is my great honor to be part of this team and to provide spiritual support to patients and their families.

Phoebe had a great time visiting the residents at The Gardens at West Shore recently. She and Blue got lots of love and attention. It's always a joy to see the smiles from our patients and other facility residents when we make our pet visits.

Next in our spotlight is the amazing Amy Bertoldi. Below is more info about Amy.

My name is Amy Bertoldi and I am the Director of Social Services at Pinnacle Hospice. I have worked in Hospice for over 16 years. It's a really special experience to be part of someone's life when they are coming to the end of their journey.
I love providing companionship and some extra TLC to our patients as well as providing education, support and assistance to them and their loved ones during this difficult time in their lives. Everyone's journey is unique and helping to make sure this time is as comfortable and peaceful as possible is a privilege.
I've been lucky to work with some amazing people during my time in Hospice and my experience at Pinnacle Hospice has been no exception. We have a fabulous Team with an extremely caring company that I am blessed to be a part of everyday.

My name is Stacy Beck and I am the Director of Bereavement and Volunteer services for Pinnacle Hospice Care. I’ve worked in Health care for the last 23 years, starting in long term care and have spent the last 18 years working in Hospice. Not too many people can say that they love their job and the team of people they work with, but I am one of the fortunate few that can say it and actually mean it. While the job can be very difficult, having the ability and opportunity to help people through their most difficult times is truly a rewarding gift. I feel fortunate to work with an amazing team of people and to work for Pinnacle Hospice, a company that that truly cares for their patients, families of patients, their employees and the community.
