We recently had the chance to share our Hospice services at a Senior Resource Fair where we met a lot of wonderful people, some of whom shared their own personal stories with us. Resource Fairs are a wonderful free opportunity for the older population to learn about community resources. Thank you LCBC Church for hosting this event and allowing us to participate.

Next in our spotlight is our newest RN Case Manager, Andrew Viozzi. We're excited for Andrew to be part of our growing Team! See below for Andrew's bio:

My name is Andrew Viozzi and I am a Registered Nurse Case Manager for Pinnacle Hospice. I have been a registered nurse for 12 years with 7 years of experience in Hospice. My career started in an acute care hospital where I thought my interest was strongest until I realized there were so many needs in the community. I practiced for several years as a home health nurse until I realized that Hospice Care was what I was looking to do all along. I have watched people suffer at end of life including my own Father. I knew I could make a difference in providing comfort and care when it was needed most. It is a privilege to be an advocate for someone when they are reaching the end of their Journey and to provide comfort and assistance to their families especially when they feel like they are not getting the needs of their loved one addressed. It is an absolute privilege to get to know our patients and families and to be a part of their lives.

Today is National Children’s Grief Awareness Day, a day set aside to focus on the children in our lives who have experienced the death of a loved one. Grief can feel extremely lonely and isolating. It is important to remember to show our grieving children love, support and kindness today and every day, and to let them know that they do not have to walk their grief journey alone.
