Don't Choke on Smoke

Don't Choke on Smoke www.dontchokeonsmoke.org Physicians and nurses are given information about how to assess second hand smoke and smoking in a family.

Through DCOS, parents are educated about the dangers of second hand smoke exposure to their children, counseled about the benefits of quitting smoking, and given resources to follow through. If a caregiver smokes, resources are provided so that they can either quit smoking or have smoke free zones in the home and car for their children. Ultimately, DCOS hopes that more Kansas kids will grow up healthy. Quitting smoking is one of the best things that you can do to protect you and your family. DCOS was created by the KAAP to address the issue of second hand smoke and its effect on our children in Kansas. Through our program, physicians are encouraged to talk to parents about smoking and the effects of second hand smoke to a child. Parents are encouraged to quit smoking, and are educated about making sure that their homes and cars are 100% smoke free. http://ow.ly/ahKtK
