KC Bariatric has been in practice since 2002, providing weight loss surgery care to thousands of patients in the metropolitan Kansas City and surrounding mid-west areas. We provide patient education, full preoperative evaluation of each patient's mental and physical health, coordination of care, assistance with insurance issues, and post-operative support groups in order to help ensure the safety and success of our patients. Weight loss surgery is not cosmetic surgery, nor does it actually "remove" a patient's excess weight. It is a TOOL that assists in weight loss and weight maintenance for patients who are 100 or more pounds overweight and who have failed weight loss through traditional dietary and behavior modifications. If you or someone you love is obese, you know how difficult life can be. Excess weight impacts your health, your self-esteem, and your relationships. People with obesity are at greater risk for serious health conditions such as high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and diabetes. When diet and exercise aren't working, it may seem like there is no hope. At KC Bariatric, we specialize in providing alternatives for the care and treatment of obesity and its related co-morbidities in the forms of Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass and LapBand Gastric Banding Surgeries. If you are considering the decision to undergo weight loss surgery, you'll want to educate yourself on these life-changing procedures. We are here to answer all of your questions and to determine if you are a candidate for surgery through our program.

"After having my son in 2019, I put on a significant amount of weight. Over the years, I reached a number on the scale that I never thought I would see in my lifetime. I tried all the fad diets, pills—you name it—and nothing worked for me. I felt so defeated and was worried that I would be stuck in this body, a body I didn’t recognize, forever.
From the first meeting, I finally felt some hope—hope that I would finally feel like myself again. I had gastric sleeve surgery on 5/18/23, and that day will always hold special meaning for me, because it is the day I regained control of my life.
The feeling of being able to run in the backyard with my son, having the energy to play with him for hours on end, is indescribable. I am able to be present for my son, my husband, and my family. I can put on clothes, go out, and actually enjoy what I’m doing instead of worrying about how I look.
I have regained my confidence, and I am so grateful every single day that I decided to say yes to bariatric surgery. After 7 months, I have lost 90 pounds, hit my goal weight, and feel the best I have since I was in college. I cannot thank Dr. Aragon and the amazing staff at KC Bariatric enough for all their help and support. It feels SO good to have my life back!" - Roietta

After losing 90 lbs and reaching her goal weight, she now has the energy and confidence to fully enjoy time with her family.

Nearly 1 in 5 kids in the U.S. are living with obesity - a condition that can lead to serious health challenges like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, joint pain, and even depression.
This isn’t just about diet. Childhood obesity is shaped by many factors - from genetics and environment to activity levels, food access, and sleep. That’s why the solution starts with the whole family.
Encourage movement, offer balanced meals, limit screen time, and create a home that makes healthy choices easier. Early changes make a big difference in lifelong health. 💙
