Genicular artery embolization (G*E) is a new, minimally invasive procedure meant to “fill the gap” between medication and total knee replacement surgery. G*E works by blocking the abnormal blood vessels in the knee that cause chronic inflammation. Using a tiny catheter, we inject small particles to reduce blood flow to these areas, easing pain and swelling without any incisions.
