Tonight at the Caldwell House we fired up the grill and enjoyed some amazing ribeye steaks, all thanks to the generous donation from JBS. Meals like this mean more than just good food, they mean fellowship, encouragement, and a reminder to the men here that they are supported by a community that truly cares.

We are incredibly grateful for partnerships like this and for every person, business, and organization that pours into the Caldwell House. Without the help of our community and those who faithfully give and support, we wouldn’t be able to continue the life-changing work that happens here each and every day.

Thank you to JBS and to everyone who stands beside us. Because of you, we’re able to keep showing up, serving others, and building hope, one meal, one conversation, and one life at a time. 🥩🔥🥩🔥🥩🔥

Today at Caldwell House, we put up Kevin’s photo along with his “In Loving Memory” plaque, a small but meaningful way to honor a man who left a big impact on all of us.

This is the Kevin we’ll always remember… smiling, laughing, cutting up, and bringing joy into every room he walked into. He had a way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and hopeful, even on their hardest days.

Kevin wasn’t just part of Caldwell House, he was part of the heart of it. The time, love, and effort he poured into helping others find hope and a new way of life will never be forgotten. His legacy lives on in every life he touched and every man who continues the journey because of the seeds he planted.

We’ll carry his memory with us daily, in the laughter, in the fellowship, and in the work we continue to do.

Forever in our hearts. 💜

With heavy hearts, we want to share the details for the memorial service of our dear friend and brother, Kevin Norris.

Kevin’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 1:00 PM at Philadelphia Lutheran Church, located at 52 Pinewood Rd, Granite Falls, NC 28630.

Everyone is invited to attend as we come together to celebrate Kevin’s life, legacy, and the love he poured into so many people. He meant so much to all of us, and this will be a time to remember, reflect, and support one another.

Please continue to keep Kevin’s family, friends, and our Caldwell House community in your thoughts and prayers.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our Assistant Director, Kevin Norris, who went home yesterday.

Kevin was a truly remarkable man who spent the last 20 years pouring hope, compassion, and support into the lives of men struggling with substance use. His heart for recovery and his unwavering commitment to helping others changed countless lives. There are likely thousands of people who have been impacted by Kevin, men he mentored, encouraged, and helped guide onto a better path.

To many of the men who came through our doors, Kevin was more than a mentor. He was a steady voice in difficult moments, a source of wisdom, and someone who genuinely believed in people when they struggled to believe in themselves.

His passing is a tremendous loss to the recovery community and to all of us here at Caldwell House. Kevin leaves behind a legacy of compassion, service, and lives forever changed because he chose to care.

We ask that you please keep Kevin’s family, the men in the house, and everyone who knew and loved him in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Kevin. Your impact will live on in every life you helped change.

THANK YOU to everyone who came out to our annual Caldwell House Christmas Party. We had an awesome night and some amazing food catered by Cork and Barrel. Thank you to our amazing board who supplied desserts for the party and to our one amazing board member that insisted on cleaning up and wouldn't let us help. Thank you to Tabernacle Baptist Church & Christian School for the generous donations to give each guy at our house a Christmas present. We're so grateful for the support of our community because without you it wouldn't be possible to provide a stable and safe environment for men to recover. Together WE can make a difference!!

Many of the men who come to us arrive without a stable home, and having a clean, peaceful environment is vital to their recovery, physically, mentally, and spiritually.

As Giving Tuesday arrives tomorrow, we want to take a moment to share just how much your generosity means to the Caldwell House and the men we serve.

Our home runs entirely on donations and grants, and every single dollar directly helps us provide a safe, healthy, and stable environment for our residents to recover from drug and alcohol addiction. Many of the men who come to us arrive without a stable home, and having a clean, structured, and peaceful place to live is absolutely crucial for both their physical and mental health. A proper environment can improve sleep, reduce stress, and lift their overall mood, things that make a tremendous difference in early recovery.

At the Caldwell House, we provide three meals a day, transportation to and from work, and rides to recovery meetings. We work hard to create a space that truly feels like home, somewhere these men can rebuild their lives, regain hope, and prepare to re-enter society stronger and healthier.

If you can find it in your heart this Giving Tuesday, we humbly ask for your support. Every contribution, big or small, helps us continue this mission and make a real difference in the lives of the men who walk through our doors.

If you don’t have anywhere to go today or just need a place to share a meal, we want to invite you to come join us here at the Caldwell House at 2:00 PM. Come eat with the guys, share some love, and enjoy some good food and good company.

Please don’t go without eating today, we’ve got plenty of food, and you are more than welcome. Nobody should spend Thanksgiving alone or hungry.
