🌿 What is GeneSight DNA Testing and How Can It Help You?

At Family 1st Healthcare, we’re proud to offer GeneSight® DNA testing — a simple, personalized test that helps your healthcare provider choose the best medication options for mental health and wellness based on your genetic makeup.

🧬 What GeneSight Does

GeneSight is a genetic test that analyzes how your body may respond to certain medications, including those commonly used to treat: Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Mood disorders, And other mental health conditions

It also provides results for MTHFR gene variants, which can impact how your body processes folate and certain medications — an important factor in mood, energy, and overall health.

Because everyone’s genetics are unique, medications that work well for one- person may not work as well for another. GeneSight helps your provider:

Identify which medications may be more effective or cause fewer side effects

Reduce the trial-and-error process of finding the right treatment

Personalize your care plan for faster, more effective results

💲 Cost and Coverage

Most insurance plans may cover the test (coverage varies by plan). 100% covered by Medicare and Medicaid.

If not covered, you can choose to pay a $330 cash price.

Income-based discounts are available through GeneSight — many patients qualify for reduced costs.

🧾 Easy Process

A simple cheek swab is done in our office.

The sample is sent to the GeneSight lab.

Results are ready in about a week and reviewed with your provider to help guide your treatment.

We are thrilled to welcome **Ashley’s McDowell, FNP-C** to our family! To better serve our patients, we are extending our hours.

🗓 **New Hours:**
- **Starting October 11th:** Open from **9 AM to 1 PM every Saturday**
- **Friday extended hours:** Starting November 7th, open until **5 PM** (No longer closing at 12)

Established patients can schedule routine appointments or walk in for sick visits. We understand that seeing your healthcare provider quickly is important when you or a loved one is unwell.
Join us Monday the 22nd from 4-5 at the office to welcome Ashley and tour the facility. Refreshments served.
This extension is just one of the many ways we strive to deliver **high-quality care** to our community.
