💓 May is High Blood Pressure Education Month 💓

High blood pressure, often called the “silent killer,” can increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney problems, and other serious health conditions — often without noticeable symptoms.

At Helping Hands Clinic, we encourage our community to take small steps that can make a big difference:
✔️ Check your blood pressure regularly
✔️ Eat a heart-healthy diet
✔️ Stay active
✔️ Limit sodium and to***co use
✔️ Take medications as prescribed

Knowing your numbers is one of the most important things you can do for your health. Early detection and ongoing care can save lives.

If you or someone you know needs access to affordable healthcare services, Helping Hands Clinic is here to help. Together, we can build a healthier community! ❤️

It’s Healthy Vision Month—a perfect time to focus on protecting and preserving your sight 👁️
At Helping Hands Clinic, we provide vision care and low-cost eyeglasses in partnership with Graystone Eye and New Eyes.

👨‍⚕️Graystone Eye provides expert clinical care and specialized services, helping bridge the gap for patients who may not otherwise have access to comprehensive eye care.

👓New Eyes, a nonprofit organization, provides low cost eye glasses for patients and anyone in the community who meet financial eligibility criteria. Through these partnerships, we’re removing barriers and helping our patients see a brighter, clearer future.
If you or someone you know may benefit from our services, call or come by the Clinic to make an appointment!

At our clinic, we believe caring for your mental health is just as important as caring for your physical health. Whether you're navigating stress, anxiety, depression, or life transitions—you don’t have to do it alone.

Our team is here to listen, support, and walk alongside you every step of the way. Reaching out is a strong and important first step.

It’s Prescription Drug Take Back Day—a great reminder to safely dispose of unused or expired medications and help keep our community safe 💊
For safe disposal, you can use local medication drop boxes, available at:
• Lenoir Police Department
• Walmart and CVS pharmacies
At Helping Hands Clinic, we also work to ensure medications are used responsibly and reach those in need. If you are interested in donating unopened medications, please follow our guidelines:
• Please contact the clinic before dropping off donations to confirm eligibility
• Medications must be unexpired and in original, sealed packaging
• We do not accept controlled substances

Proper disposal helps prevent misuse, protects our environment, and keeps medications out of the wrong hands.
Thank you for doing your part to keep our community healthy and safe!

It’s Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we are incredibly grateful for the heart and dedication of our Helping Hands Clinic volunteers 💙
In 2025, 61 volunteers gave an amazing 1,515 hours of service to support our mission of providing free healthcare to our uninsured neighbors. From welcoming patients at the pharmacy window and assisting in the clinic to lending professional expertise, every hour given makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Your generosity, kindness, and commitment are what make our work possible. Because of you, our community is healthier, stronger, and more connected.
Thank you for being the helping hands behind Helping Hands Clinic—we couldn’t do this without you!
