Mindful Moment
Take a few moments to connect mindfully with your body. Is there tension? Maybe invite softness to the shoulders, the jaw, the brow... Be curious about what is present, without judgement, without forcing change.
Mindfully connect with your breath. How does it feel? Fast, slow, deep or shallow? Inhale... Exhale... Consciously watching the breath as it rises and falls. Nothing to do, nowhere to go...
Thoughts and feelings may arise. This is okay. Notice them but try not to become attached. If you find yourself actively thinking, working, worrying, see if you can find the breath again.
Inhale... Exhale...
Remember, the breath is your anchor to the present moment. You can come back to the breath anytime, anywhere. It is like a dear friend, always with you and ready to care for you. Our dearest mindfulness tool.
Om Shanti.

Rest is a radical gift. As yoga teachers, practitioners, and human beings, we are being asked to hold more than ever.

Yoga Nidra teaches us that rest is restorative and deeply necessary. Even when everything's not okay, we can settle our systems and help others do the same.

When we cultivate the ability to quiet the nervous system, to pause - breathe - reconnect with ourselves and one another, we are able to bring a grounded and compassionate presence into the world around us.

Rest is a radical gift.

YOGA FAQ!
What do I eat before yoga?

If you've ever had a full meal before yoga class, you will learn the importance of planning your food during the very first downward dog! Everyone has their own constitution and digestion patterns, so know what works well for you. In general, a light easily digestible snack 1-2 hours prior to class is your best bet. Try to avoid anything too heavy, greasy, or oily. Fruit tends to be a good choice, maybe paired with a protein or nut butter. After your practice, make sure to hydrate and have something heartier if you are hungry.
My fav pre-yoga snack is a banana or apple with peanut butter. What's your go to pre-yoga snack?
