As we roll into a very heavy spray tan season with galas, events, spring break, proms and so much more, I wanted to create an educational post on many do's and don'ts so that you all have the very best outcomes on your tan ☀️
I have also attached several pictures of these customized solutions undertones and outcomes from the company. These solutions are top notch, making your experience more of a luxury service!
Unlike many spray tan companies out there, I DO NOT charge for extras such as blending and setting powder, those are included in your service 🖌
SKIN PREPPING🧴- this is extremely important for the outcome of your tan. I typically send you an intake/consent form and also additional instructions. These steps can literally make or break your result. Exfoliate the week prior to appointment and 24 hrs, as well as shave 24 hrs before. Refrain from using any and all bar soaps, absolutely no Dove, Ivory, Irish Spring, and any soaps containing fragrance, mineral oils and lots of essential oils. These will create a barrier on the skin and cause blotchiness and uneven tanning. Do not shower within 4 hours of your appointment. Do not receive a wax, facial or pedicure same day as appointment, and especially not after your appointment. Make those appointments several days before.
DAY OF APPOINTMENT🤩- NO lotion, no deodorant and no makeup when you come. Wear whatever you are comfortable with for the tan, bring dark, loose fitting clothing for after. I assure you I do hundreds of tans per year and I am absolutely comfortable with whatever you choose to be sprayed in, or nothing at all🩵 all bodies are equal, and there is no judgements😘
AFTER CARE-⏰️ Please rinse at the alloted time given to you. Wearing the bronzer longer will not result in a better or darker tan. It will actually create a more brassy look, and also can be the culprit of 🍊. These solutions have specific rinse times attached that we formulated based on your skins undertones. After rinsing well with no soap and no exfoliators and removing all bronzer, you will apply unscented lotion safe for spray tans. Again, no Dove, no bath and body works.....I have several lists of safe ones we can use. You will then develop for 24 hours after that rinse. You will not see fully developed color until that time. After that you may gently soap shower and continue hydrating the skin to keep it looking nice for 7 to 10 days.
THINGS TO CONSIDER🤔- When you are choosing your gowns, dresses, outfits, hair colors, nail colors and accessories.....these can play a huge part in the way your tan looks. I highly consider having your colors done to know what colors help you to look and feel your best. Your skins undertones are extremely important when I choose a solution. Chosing the wrong color for you may result in things looking different to the eye, such as you seeing and orange or pink tint to your tan. You may want to achieve a certain color outcome, but it may not happen. I ask alot of questions regarding what you are wearing because thats important to the solutions I choose. Make sure you are wearing colors that compliment you and not work against you.
Think about your schedule following the appointment. No working out, hot tubs, wearing white....etcetera...
There are things I can fix and things I cannot.
Also, weirdly enough, hormones can drastically change the outcome of your tan because it affects the PH of your body. If you are curious about this, reach out to me for more details😉
Booking several tans close together I will not do, unless you find a way to remove all residue. I highly recommend 3 weeks in between for them to look good and not "dirty" because this is what will happen.
Tanning appointments close together does not give you more tanned skin or get your skin used to the solutions, nor make it last any longer. It is a single application, then wears off. If you have allergies or skin issues that may be sensitive to the solutions, I am happy to do a patch test to ensure safety.
Anyone under 18 will need the parent to sign the consent form for your tan.
