Dr. Shannon Connolly If it hurts to move, let's learn to MOVE better. Motto: "Be Resilient"

11/01/2025

You wake up tired… again.
Your back aches just from unloading the dishwasher.
And somehow, everyone else’s needs made the list—except yours.

It’s not just physical pain.
It’s the quiet ache of feeling disconnected from yourself.

The truth?
Most women don’t realize they’ve been disappearing from their own life until something breaks—mentally, emotionally, or physically.

We’ve been taught that putting ourselves last is noble.
That pushing through pain is strength.

That “this is just what motherhood / midlife / womanhood looks like.”

But that’s not strength.
That’s self-neglect with a gold star.

The shift?
You don’t need more hacks, willpower, or foam rollers.
You need a plan that rebuilds your body and returns you to yourself.

That’s what we do inside Be Resilient Coaching:
✔ Real-world strength
✔ Movement that heals, not hurts
✔ Energy to actually enjoy your life again

You don’t have to keep living like this.
Let’s build the version of you that doesn’t disappear when life gets heavy.

DM me “READY” and I’ll walk you through what coaching could look like.

Because you deserve to take up space in your own life again.

Kinda spooky but funny at the same time.

Happy Halloween except to the people that still believe yoga gives you the same metabolic or physiological benefits as strength training. 👻🎃

👀”My spine used to feel stiff before and after workouts… now I can actually reach — and trust my body again.”

8 weeks ago, this client was stuck in the cycle so many women live in:

➡ Overthinking every rep
➡ Worried her shoulders were uneven and that’s the cause of her pain
➡ Saying things like “my thoracic rotation feels worse than usual”
➡ Feeling stiff — no matter what she did

She was moving… but nothing was changing.

The worst part?
It wasn’t just physical.
The mental load of always wondering if she was doing it wrong? That’s what kept her stuck.

So we got to work — one step at a time.
Not random workouts. Not just stretches.
But a real system that actually prepared her body for life again.

Fast forward to now:

✅ She’s moving with confidence
✅ She’s not afraid of “messing it up”
✅ She’s feeling her strength instead of questioning it
✅ She’s finally doing more with her family (like walking 20,000 steps!) — without guarding her body in fear

This is what happens when we stop managing symptoms…
And start building trust + strength that actually holds up in real life.

She didn’t need more stretching.
She needed structure.
She needed someone to see her whole picture — not just her pain.

If you’re tired of holding back…
Tired of wondering if this is “just how it is now”…

DM me READY and I’ll send the first step of your own Be Resilient rebuild.

Because strong isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about feeling like you again — in a body you trust.

You deserve that.
And it’s possible. Starting now.

The truth?
It’s not just the pain.
It’s what the pain steals from you.

💔 Your patience.
💔 Your freedom.
💔 Your ability to live the life you want — fully.

You’ve been told to stretch, rest, or wait it out.
But you’re still bracing to pick up your kid.
Still afraid that moving too much will break you.

I get it.
Because I’ve seen too many women stuck here.

And I know:
You’re not weak. You’re underprepared.
And your body? It’s not broken.
It’s begging to be trained, not tiptoed around.

Be Resilient Coaching isn’t another “fix.”
It’s your comeback plan — built for your life, season, and body.

✅ Real strength
✅ Less fear
✅ Confidence in movement again

I remember one of my first patients crying on my table.
Three other providers had told her the same thing I just did:
“Rest. Stretch. Be patient.”
She never came back.
And that haunted me.
Because deep down, I knew she needed more…
I just didn’t have the system to give it to her yet.

I remember a client leaving after a few sessions —
convinced yoga was enough, and strength wasn’t necessary.

Another left me a bad review —
because I said something that made her feel like I didn’t believe her pain.
(And to be honest? I was too focused on biomechanics to actually listen.)

I remember another woman quitting after 2 months —
not because the workouts were wrong,
but because her nervous system was tapped out,
and even asking her husband for help made her feel more anxious.

Strength training didn’t stand a chance against resentment and exhaustion.
She didn’t need more reps.
She needed her life back.

And I remember one who said:
“I think I need to go back to classes — I need that energy.”
But what she really needed was a plan she could trust — and the self belief that she could lead herself through it.

These stories shaped me.
They humbled me.
And they changed everything.

For a while, I believed what we’re taught to believe in healthcare:
That better posture, the right breathing drill, or perfect movement patterns were the keys to healing.

That if I could just fix someone’s alignment — they’d feel better.

But micromanaging bodies doesn’t make them feel free.
And no one ever got strong by trying to be perfect.

I trained solo for a marathon once, pushing through pain and ignoring red flags.
I crossed the finish line barely able to walk —
burnt out, bitter, and thinking:
“This isn’t what strength is supposed to feel like.”

Then, while treating 30 patients a day in NYC, I caught myself telling them:
“Take care of yourself.”
Meanwhile I couldn’t remember the last time I slept, trained, or moved without pain.

That’s when it clicked:
We don’t need more information.
We need better systems.
Better support.
And strength that actually transfers into life.

I hate to admit this as a doctor who used to cheer on any kind of movement. (We love it…but we know it’s incomplete.)

But no — I don’t think your Peloton streak means you’re getting stronger.

Because chasing sweat doesn’t guarantee adaptation.
And feeling good for a few weeks doesn’t mean you’re ready.

A new client told me:
“The Peloton worked for me…”

But she was still:
➡️ Avoiding bending over
➡️ Afraid to pick up weights
➡️ Dealing with nagging back pain
➡️ Hoping to lose weight
…all while following random workouts that never trained what her body actually needed.

Here’s the thing most women misunderstand:
What “worked” in the short term doesn’t always carry you forward.

Especially if your goals are strength, energy, or pain-less performance — not just movement for movement’s sake.

👉 You can feel better after a few walks and some group classes…
But that doesn’t mean your spine can tolerate impact.
Or your hips can handle a hike.
Or your knees are ready for a tennis pivot.

You didn’t train those capacities. You just avoided the stress.

And avoidance isn’t healing.
It’s hiding.

So if you’ve been stringing together random workouts, hoping to feel stronger —

Ask yourself:
🔁 Is this building toward anything?
🔁 Or am I just maintaining the cycle of “feel good until I push too far”?

Because real progress doesn’t just feel better.
It holds up — under weight, under fatigue, and under life.

If you’re ready for a plan that actually moves you forward, not just around in circles — I’m taking on 3 new clients who are done guessing and ready to train with purpose.

DM me “READY” if that’s you.

If you don’t care about your physical strength, the system wins.

Because weakness in women isn’t just a side effect —
it’s the design.

A system that profits when you’re too tired, too achy, too overwhelmed to ask for more…
isn’t going to hand you power.

You have to build it.

And that doesn’t start with protesting them.
It starts with changing you.

Your habits.
Your beliefs.
Your behavior.
Your body.

Radical responsibility isn’t shame —
It’s a refusal to play small just because the world expects you to.

If you want better systems for women,
start by becoming the kind of woman they can’t ignore.

This is urgent.
This is political.
This is physical.

Train like your power depends on it — because it does.

My Story

I am passionate about everything that comes to health and wellness. I strive to live and practice with the “learn in all” mindset. From movement-based therapy to functional nutrition, I am constantly learning and developing to become a well rounded holistic practitioner. I practice with the philosophy that one system or protocol does not work for everyone.

I am determined to educate how intricately the body functions with multiple systems and the cause of your symptoms may not be what it appears to be. You may be in that 20% of people who have had little to short term success with standard treatments or protocols. I want to work with you!

I work side by side with my patients as a guide and a dedicated partner to figure out the root cause of your symptoms. And this all starts with YOUR story...
