✨Balanced Smoothie Formula✨
Warm mornings = cold breakfast. BUT we don’t want it to be a sugar bomb. Here’s my formula for building a balanced smoothie or smoothie bowl full of protein, healthy fats and fiber.
✨Liquid - Skip the juice. Use water, coconut water or unsweetened milk of choice.
✨Include at least 1 serving of vegetables - leafy greens are an easy addition but you can also add a serving of zucchini or cauliflower (try plain frozen riced cauliflower). They are both so mild that they will blend right in and you won’t know they are there.
✨Limit fruit to 2 servings maximum. 1 serving = 1 cup frozen or fresh. (If you have a really big banana that you are using, it might be 2 servings)
✨Add protein: serving of greek yogurt, protein powder, nuts or nut butter
✨Add healthy fat: serving of chia seed, flax seed, h**p hearts, avocado, nuts or nut butter
