Of course we want to experience joy all the time, but that is not balance. If we push and push and push for joy all the time then misery will rise up even higher, the scale will constantly be out of whack. We have to accept the storms and be willing to walk through them with grace and trust that on the other side is peace. Staring at the storm in front of us and denying to face it will keep us in a stagnant state of fear and chaos. Trust in the Universe and lead with your heart.

This summer: I will judge my body less than I have in past years. I will wear my bathing suit proudly, thanking and honoring my body for carrying me 40 years on this earth instead of wishing it looked differently or berating it. I’ll continue to work hard, but not to loose weight or obsess over appearance, simply to take care of body just as it has taken care of me. I will continue trying to make every day the best day of my life despite all the plot twists. All because I am grateful for this life.
