According to the American Lung Association, someone in the United States is diagnosed with lung cancer every 2.5 minutes, and that 44% of those patients are "distant stage", meaning the cancer has spread from the lungs to other organs.

On , Beebe is proud to celebrate over a year of offering state-of-the-art robotic-assisted navigational bronchoscopy technology, that has allowed a number of Beebe patients undergo a minimally invasive procedure to identify cancerous tumors sooner since it's adoption last April. Early detection is critical to lung cancer care and survivorship, and we are glad to provide this service to the people of Sussex County.

Beebe Healthcare is proud to announce the expansion of its Neurosciences program! As part of this exciting development, Beebe welcomes Punit Pandya, DO, a fellowship-trained, board-certified neurosurgeon, to its medical staff through a clinical affiliation with Jefferson Health. Dr. Pandya is now seeing patients at Beebe’s Milton Health Center. While initially Dr. Pandya will be focusing on a range off cervical and lumbar procedures, he will expand his scope to include brain surgeries at Beebe, starting in 2026.

As summer draws to a close, we want to give shoutout to our 2025 Summer Student Volunteers! This year we had 64 students who collectively volunteered over 3,000 hours!

Open to students aged 14 and older, the Student Summer Volunteer Program offers hands-on volunteer experience in a dynamic healthcare environment, particularly for those interested in pursuing careers in medicine and allied health fields. This year’s cohort marked a record number of participants, reflecting the growing interest among local youth in healthcare service and education.

We thank the students so much for their dedication!

Taylor Hodges, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner who works at Beebe Healthcare, as part of the Cardiovascular Institute team. She sees patients with a variety of complex cardiac conditions including coronary arteriosclerosis, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and hypertension. She cares for patients age 18 and older. Taylor is committed to providing comprehensive care for patients, along with education and support to guide them as they aim to improve their heart health.
