Since we are spending a lot of time in our homes, mindful selection of what shoes you wear in the home is important. I agree you should avoid wearing your outdoor shoes in the home to help prevent the spread of germs and dirt. A simple slipper for lengthy periods of time is not recommended. All the same considerations for your outdoor shoe should apply to your indoor shoe such as good stability, arch support, and securing the shoe with a backstrap.

November is diabetes awareness month. According to Delaware Division of Public Health - DPH, the amount of people in Delaware with diabetes has risen to approximately 85,000 people or 11.3% of the population and is still rising. Patients with diabetes require a team of physicians for health maintenance. The American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) has provided some useful information regarding signs, symptoms, complications and ways to take care of your diabetic feet.

The Lewes Chamber of Commerce welcomed the Delaware Total Foot and Ankle Center to Lewes with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The Delaware Total Foot and Ankle Center opened in October 2019. Dr. Wendolowski offers podiatric services ranging from routine and geriatic foot care, diabetic foot care, wounds, sports injuries, fractures, orthotics and bracing, and surgery.
